REAP Indonesia Update July - December 2022

Dear Partners in the Harvest,

Shalom in Jesus' name and God's richest blessings and grace be for you, family, church and ministry. It is our joy and privilege to have you as a faithful partner of the gospel advance in Indonesia. Through your prayers and partnership, we have seen for 17 REAP Indonesia evangelists the following:

Over 54,000 gospel tracts distributed,
Over 89,000 verbally evangelised,
Over 6,800 conversions to Christ, and
26 rural churches planted.

Praise be to God and thanks for your support. 

Below are the reports from your REAP evangelists for your prayers and thanksgiving. 

M

M is a 53-year-old male who is married and has four children.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) The people whom we are going to evangelise to in 2023, that God may prepare their hearts to receive His Word. 
2) The believers, as they celebrate the New Year 2023, to stay faithful in God, and for the ministry that I do to thrive under God's blessing. 
3) Me and my ministry, for God's enabling to bring the gospel to the majority public.
4) My ongoing leg condition which sometimes haunts me but is not an obstacle to the evangelistic ministry. 
5) My children who are still studying, that they be blessed by God and in turn be a blessing to others. 
6) Our church members who have not come for a long time, to return in fervour and worship together.
7) Those who have been baptised to truly surrender their lives to God in a practical way and seek Him with all their hearts. 

Last month, my whole family including myself fell sick one by one. We were so sick that I wondered how to bring my wife and kids to the doctor. Praise the Lord, a relative visited us with the intention of borrowing something but when he saw our condition, all very weak and sick, he came back with some herbs and roots that he plucked from the jungle. He told us, "Pray first before you eat it." I was wondering, because this relative is an unbeliever. Yet he told us that! I realised God was directing me to Him, all our eyes to Him, to look to Him in our difficulty. What a reminder. As we did that daily, we got better. What a beautiful reminder the Lord gave us, through an unbelieving relative!

AS

A is a 39-year-old male who is married with three children.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) My family, especially my wife and children 
2) The villages where we are ministering at
3) Protection of health on the family, church and community
4) The children's education
5) God's sustenance on my current job

In this difficult time of economic turbulence and shakings of faith, I as God's servant should remain fervent and be an example to fellow believers, that my example would encourage them to persevere in their own trials. I will continue to preach the gospel consistently through the various ministries. 

M 

M is a 44-year-old male who is married with one child.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) My ministry, that God may strengthen me with fervour even as there are many obstacles and challenges in the home
2) The believers to remain firm in their faith and be witnesses to their families and friends
3) My wife to be supportive of the ministry
4) The ongoing ministry in SDN that reaches out to kids from 7 to 12 years old, that they may come to know Christ and believe in Him personally
5) Our young people who are undergoing baptism catechism, that they may remain faithful in Christ

Praise God we are given the opportunity to serve Him. The ministry in SDN birthed from the desire to reach out to kids who thirst for the truth of the gospel, through Christian education. Praise God these kids along with their parents are very receptive to it. 

This is a story of an answered prayer. We had a loan from my brother-in-law which we could not settle as our income was not enough. One day, a man visited my neighbour and as he was coming out of the house, he asked me what I was working as. I answered that I was working in the SDN school. Without any word said, the man took out an envelope and passed it to me. After he had left, I opened the envelope and behold, it held the exact amount we needed to pay off the loan. How good indeed God is! He loves His children. 

I am well received by the SDN school and its surrounding community. Praise God. May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ go before us in this ministry. 

S

S is a 45-year-old male who is a widower with one child.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) The believers to continue to grow, trust and be dependent on God
2) Our ministries, from Sunday School to youth work
3) The believers' economic condition, that they may hunger and thirst for God despite being in physical want
4) Our schooling children sitting for their public exams, to be given wisdom and special enabling by God. 
5) My family, that we be patient and persevering in trials whether in life on in the ministry
6) Our world leaders as they tackle global crises such as the ongoing Russia/Ukraine war

While praying for a family who had a sick member, God answered my prayer and the person received a miraculous healing from the Lord Jesus, and thereafter received Jesus into his life. 

As year-end approaches, I am very grateful to God. Many miracles took place, and I can see God's own hand in providing for me, preserving and protecting me, loving me as the apple of His eye. My prayer is God uses me powerfully in bringing souls to Christ and in teaching His Word, that I be a blessing and strength to the people here in the place of ministry. In my challenges, God will enable. God bless.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) The ongoing ministry that people will repent and come to know the Lord
2) The outreach work in P and its surrounding areas
3) My family, that the Lord may bless the work of our hands
4) My children to be used by God according to His will
5) Me to be continually used by God in winning souls for Him

Answered prayer, I give thanks that the believers are kept from Covid-19 thus far. I give thanks also for my REAP supporter, for faithfully keeping me and my team in prayer. The Lord honours our cries, and His hand is not short in helping us.
