REAP Sarawak, Malaysia Evangelists Report for January - June 2022

Shalom! Greetings in the matchless name of our Lord, God and Saviour Jesus Christ. I trust you are being kept encouraged by the grace and goodness of God. 

We give thanks for the continuous forward march of the gospel in Sarawak through your prayers and support. 

The work of 36 REAP Sarawak evangelists saw:
- over 200,400 evangelised verbally
- over 52,200 gospel tracts given
- over 48,200 conversions to Christ
- over 18,600 baptised
- 4,300 bibles given to new believers, and
- 517 rural churches planted

All glory to God! Thank you once again. 

Below are reports from your REAP evangelists for your prayers and thanksgiving.    

DM 

DM is a 43-year-old male who is married with three children.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) Us as shepherds and evangelists who serve full-time in this area
2) A spiritual awakening in this area
3) Us as we plan to evangelise to a particular group among the people here
4) The believers who have not come to the church for a while now, and whose hearts have grown cold due to the lockdown and COVID
5) The faithful believers to work together to be the salt and light of this area

After five years ministering here, a number of people including other races approached us for prayer. We took the opportunity to pray for them and clarify who Jesus is, the God we worship. This is a miracle because rarely people of other races approach us. Some ask for prayer because they are sick, and some ask for prayer because their farms are struggling to yield crops. Even though none have actually accepted the Lord, the gospel has gone out to them. Do uphold us as we wisely reach out to this group of people. Thank you and God bless. 

JNW 

JNW is a 45-year-old man who is married with four children.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) The longhouses that we minister to, that more souls will be willing to be saved. 
2) Those who have believed to be true witnesses of God. 
3) Our ongoing intercessory prayer meetings at church. 
4) My family to be protected from evil and be sustained in our needs for the ministry. 

In April we prayed for a female student who appeared to be demon possessed. Praise God she was restored after that. 

There was a lady called BAL whose body feels hot all the time. She had gone to the hospital a few times, but the doctor did not know what her illness was. She was brought back to the longhouse for treatment, but it persisted and finally they came to us for prayer. She did feel better after the prayer but after a while, the sickness came back. They brought her for the longhouse/bomoh treatment again. Pray with us they seek the Lord God for help instead, and that He will give her relief and healing from this mysterious illness. 

KAC

KAC is a 40-year-old male who is married with one child.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) My family to be protected by God and be given good health
2) The longhouses to be open to the gospel
3) The longhouses who have heard the gospel to stay loyal to God - praise God, now we can visit them!
4) A spiritual revival in this place. 
5) A new place that is growing in numbers
6) The young people to rise up and accept the gospel
7) The financial wellbeing of our believers as some have no jobs and no source of regular income
8) Those in RP to have a sponsor to build a church. The believers desire to have their own church as they want to come together to worship. 

Praise God for some who have been healed after being prayed for. 

Through our outreach and discipleship, new believers are taught from the International Christian Mission (ICM) book to develop their faith. Many of them are blessed and continue to grow in this study. School children are also blessed with this ICM course. 

PAN

PAN is a 41-year-old man who is married with four children.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) My health as I have just been operated for a growth in the chest.
2) My family and their health. 
3) Our believers in the various longhouses, that they remain faithful to Christ. 
4) The Lord to open the way and help us penetrate the villages.
5) Discernment on the believers to differentiate teaching that will split up the church.
6) A newly reached area in NB.
7) The cell groups that are in the midst of building their own church buildings, pray for their needs and unity. 

Thankful to God for His presence with us in the ministry. God did a miraculous work by changing the heart of a very feared 'bomoh' to accept Christ. We pray his changed life will bring others to Christ. God bless you.
