REAP Sarawak, Malaysia Evangelists Report for July - December 2022

Shalom! Greetings in the matchless name of our Lord, God and Saviour Jesus Christ. I trust you are being kept encouraged by the grace and goodness of God.

We give thanks for the continuous forward march of the gospel in Sarawak through your prayers and support.

The work of 54 REAP Sarawak evangelists saw:
- over 209,500 evangelised verbally
- over 52,300 gospel tracts given
- over 49,600 conversions to Christ
- over 19,200 baptised
- 4,400 bibles given to new believers, and
- 543 rural churches planted

All glory to God! Thank you once again. Below are reports from your REAP evangelists for your prayers and thanksgiving.

DM

DM is a 43-year-old male who is married with three children.

Ministry report July - December 2022
Number of tracts distributed - verbal evangelism
Number of people evangelised - 547
Number of conversions - 152
Number of people baptised - 12
Church Planted - 2 longhouse cell groups

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) Our ministry as shepherds and evangelists who serve full-time in this area. Pray for a spiritual awakening.
2) Us as we plan to evangelise to a particular group among the people here.
3) The new believers who have come from their villages to tolerate the scolding and mocking of the non-believers.
4) God's power to manifest among various races here.

There were four families who decided to give up their amulets and ancestral items, to be destroyed in Jesus' name. These four families surrendered their lives to God. They were Anglican and therefore need not be baptised again but those who asked, I did.

Secondly, there was an old man who was sick. He was known to be stubborn and arrogant. But this time he was sick and asked for prayer and apologised to the whole village. We went to pray for him, and he asked to accept Christ as Saviour and Lord. We led him in prayer. I asked if he wanted to be baptised and gave him three days to think. After the three days, we went back. The man was feeling better and was very enthusiastic in getting baptised. Praise God, we love him so much. After one week, he passed away. God had given him a chance to repent and return to Him. A month after that, his grandchild asked to accept Christ as Saviour and Lord. The old man leaves his legacy. Praise God for working through hardened hearts in a magnificent way.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) My family that we will always be healthy under God's protection.
2) Our evangelism ministry that many places will be open to the gospel.
3) The people in the area we are ministering to, that they will be able to understand God's Word taught to them.
4) Malaysia and Sarawak, that we will be blessed economically and protected from evil.
5) All the full-time workers to be active in their service

I am thankful to God for His wisdom and grace upon us. I am thanking God for the available materials for our discipling of the cell groups to a firm foundation in their Christian faith.

DAS

DAS is a 52-year-old woman who is single.

Ministry report July - December 2022
Number of tracts distributed - 0 (verbal evangelism)
Number of people evangelised - 60
Number of conversions - 5
Number of people baptised - 1

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) The ministry so that everything goes well and is in accordance to the Lord's will.
2) The believers to have a desire to serve God.
3) God to move among the people here to cause a spiritual awakening in their hearts as prophesied by earlier groups.
4) The churches to together catch the vision of God and move towards a great movement in the end times.
5) Churches to be united and work together for the kingdom of God.

The Lord has blessed the ministry especially in UB, where believers have grown in numbers and enthusiasm. These people longed for fellowship as they have not had a pastor for three years. Their spiritual growth is developing now, and they are keen in attending every meeting we have, whether on the weekday or weekend.

The believers are enthusiastic because we are discipling them to further spiritual growth and new members are being added, some from other denominations, and all hungering for the Word of God.

3) Good response from the believers for the Bible study class we are doing in the church or cell groups.
4) Sister E who is under the bondage of an evil spirit, to be fully delivered in the name of Jesus.
5) My family, that God may continue to use us, and that we will be strong and healthy in God's protection.
6) Me personally, that God continues to give me wisdom and guidance in working His will.

Praise God for answered prayer. There was a young lady who was a believer and whom I knew before. She befriended a wrong guy - he was of another race and worked in the same place as the woman. The guy took advantage of her and used a 'medicine' that made her crazy over him. With that, he extorted her for money and took advantage of her physically. Over the next few tormenting months, the lady recalled me and contacted me to ask for prayer, after sharing her story. I called on my prayer partners and we interceded for her. After three days I got a text from her saying that she realised what she did was wrong (falling in love with a man of another race) and wanted help to repent and return to the Lord. The man, meanwhile, had been transferred to another department after having been discovered with his wrongdoing. Praise God for answered prayer and for not abandoning His people, He is ready to receive them when they repent and return to Him. Praise God for saving this young lady from a very difficult situation.
