Update from MAP

Grace and peace to you in the matchless name of Jesus.

The year 2016 marks a decade of 'Rural Evangelists Adoption Programme' (REAP) for MAP in Asia. We are now over 500 REAP evangelists in 12 countries of Asia: China, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, the Philippines and Mongolia. Thank you, one and all, for faithful sowing that we might reap exponential gains in salvation. We are now:
Over 100,000 conversions to Christ,
Over 3 million gospel tracts distributed, and
Over 28,000 bibles given to new converts.

Praise be to God and thank you for faithful sowing and sharing in the harvest (2 Cor 9:6). We must not rest until the whole of Asia hears His Voice. This year (2016) we launched REAP in Mongolia and amongst the Orang Asli (OA) of Peninsular Malaysia. Next year, we will launch REAP in Brunei.

We aim for the speediest evangelisation of rural Asia by training, resourcing, supporting and sending rural evangelists to sow and harvest. With God's help we aim to reach at least 650 REAP evangelists by 2017.

REAP Sarawak Longhouses, Malaysia

On July 14-17 2016, MAP Founder and President, Ooi Chin Aik, together with the Field Director of Bright Hope World, Kevin Honore, visited REAP evangelists and their fields in some 12 longhouses in the vicinity of Kuching, Sarawak. Sidang Injil Borneo (SIB) Council member of Sarawak and REAP Coordinator, Pastor Tram Epoi led the team to visit, minister the gospel, encourage new believers, and distribute over 600 bibles to new converts.

We are encouraged by the persevering work of our REAP Sarawak evangelists. The first Iban family of 5 in an unreached longhouse prayed to receive Christ after two years of sowing. Another family of witchcraft leaders in the rural community came to faith in Christ after five years of friendship and persistent sowing and prayers. Praise be to God!

Kevin Honore gave his highlights of the trip:
"It's hard to describe what I saw and experienced on a trip with Pastor Chin Aik in July. I have the privilege of regularly visiting different countries and cultures, but I have to say that the longhouses of East Malaysia are very unique. It was great to meet many tireless men and women of faith going into very difficult places to tell people the story of Jesus. It was wonderful to meet groups of Christians in a number of longhouses and hear their stories. It was interesting to travel by boat up river to get to one group of tribespeople.

Perhaps the highlight was to be there as one family gave their lives to Jesus after a great deal of thought about it and counting the cost. I will remember with fondness the fellowship of Pastors Tram and Chin Aik and the amazing meals of Malaysian street food. God is at work, God's people are catching the vision of church planting. It's a great privilege to partner with that."

Thank you Bright Hope World for your field visit and increased support of evangelists in Sarawak and Indonesia. Thank you each REAP Sarawak supporter. We have today over 16,500 conversions in the longhouses and rural villages of Sarawak, with over 7,500 baptised and over 4,000 Bahasa bibles given to new converts.

To God be the glory!
