REAP Sarawak Evangelists Report for January - June 2015

Once again we greet you in our Saviour's mighty name and trust you are being encouraged as you honour the Lord. 

REAP Sarawak (Malaysia) continues to gain momentum with 109 REAP Sarawak supporters as of 1 December 2015. Keep praying for us as we continue to recruit supporters, train and send evangelists to speed on the gospel in the villages and longhouses. 

The combined labour of 97 REAP Sarawak evangelists yielded:
- over 40,000 evangelized
- over 16,400 conversions to Christ
- over 7,600 baptized
- over 37,500 gospel tracts distributed and
- 2,800 bibles in Bahasa sent 

We praise God for your faithful support to make these possible. Thank you. 

Below is a personal update report from the five evangelists financially supported by Bright Hope World. 

LAC

LAC is a 53 year old man who is married and has four children.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) Those who have heard the gospel, that they will be moved to surrender their lives to Jesus
2) The discipleship training that we are doing for new believers. Pray that they will grow strong in the Lord.
3) Those who are sick to experience God's healing power, and give their lives to Jesus.
4) More Christians to rise up and be involved in the work of evangelism.
5) God to provide for our daily needs and travelling expenses as we move around to preach the gospel.

We praise the Lord for the harvest of new believers that we have seen in our area of ministry. They are already being a great impact in their community for Jesus Christ.  

BL

BL is a 46 year old man who is married with three children.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) Those who have heard the gospel, that they may truly have Jesus in their heart.
2) God to provide the right pastor to help me do discipleship training for new believers.
3) Christians to commit their lives to full-time ministry and advance the gospel in this land.
4) More Christians to be involved in the work of evangelism and gospel outreach.
5) God to provide for the needs of my family and the ministry.

In recent times there have been systematic efforts by another religious group in spreading their beliefs. However, more and more people in the villages are becoming aware of their insincerity. Remember us as we continue to spread and uphold the truth of the gospel. 

JAG

JAG is a 32 year old married man.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) The longhouses that we are evangelising, that the Holy Spirit will open up the people's hearts to receive Jesus into their lives.
2) Continued strength and health for us to press on in the work of evangelism.
3) God to open up opportunities to bring the gospel to many unreached villages in the interior.
4) Our evangelism strategy in reaching out to the headman of each village, that they will be receptive to the gospel.
5) God's protection as we are involved in this spiritual warfare to win souls for Christ.

We praise God for the harvest of souls that have come to know the Lord Jesus Christ. We have been privileged to witness the sick getting healed, sinners receiving forgiveness from the Lord, and the downcast being encouraged by the Holy Spirit. 

BAA

BAA is a 26 year old single man.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) The area of B - almost all villages in this area have been evangelised; pray for God's Spirit to move people to repentance and hearts to open up to Jesus Christ.
2) The area of K - we have seen many come to know the Lord in this area; pray for them that they will continue to grow strong in their faith.
3) Our work of evangelism in the other areas, that God will grant favour and bless the work.
4) The people living in the B R area, because they are facing great pressure from rapid and systematic Islamisation efforts.
5) God's protection and covering as we move about to do the work of evangelism.

We want to give glory to God because without Him we would not have the joy and privilege of witnessing hearts being turned to Christ. May God's Spirit continue to move and work in this place so that many more will come under the grace and lordship of Jesus Christ.  

RAE

RAE is a 24 year old single women.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) More villages to be open to the gospel and hearts prepared to receive Jesus Christ.
2) The new believers to grow in their faith as we conduct discipleship training for them.
3) Me as I am doing part-time Bible training, and for God to provide for my study expenses.
4) More Christians to be willing to help in carrying out the work of evangelism.
5) Me to have a trusting heart as I look to God to provide for all my needs.

Something that I really want to praise God for is the support of my parents as I undergo theological and Bible training. This encourages me as I look forward to further equipping myself for the Lord's work.
