August 2021 Update

Recent Events

COVID

All the Field countries are continuing with a high level of virus cases or are having a resurgence of cases. In Zambia the Minister of Justice died as a result of COVID possibly affecting the holding of elections due to be held this month. In spite of the stringent restrictions political rallies are being held in defiance of the authorities. The Lord is good in making it possible for a limited SOWERS ministry to go ahead.

Rwanda

unhinderedPastor Jean Baptiste reports:
“I greet you in the name of Jesus Christ. I am humble to inform you that we decided to proclaim Christ through Sketchboard Evangelism on the streets of my area in Kigali city despite this critical situation of Coronavirus. A major reason is that we cannot continue to keep the material you provided while we have been trained by Sowers International and we feel able and pleasure to do it. This model of evangelism is new in our country then people are very attracted to see and receive the message. Thank you for having trained us and your encouragement and advice are most requested. May God bless you.”

Kenya

Emmanuel sent this report:
reaching out“In late June we had a seminar with Nakuru East Pastor‘s Fellowship who have teamed together to reach out to their community. There were eight Pastors from different churches with their leaders - total of 18 people.

They will be going out every Saturday to reach out to people on person-to-person evangelism. The first Saturday we went out, 9 people gave their lives to the Lord and some who had backslidden were restored in their faith. The Pastors were so impressed with the results that they are now booking up Level one Seminars for each of their congregations”.

Zimbabwe

Edmond writes:
“During our door-to-door evangelism we entered a small round thatched hut. There was a young woman feeding her baby inside and looking very despondent. We introduced ourselves and our purpose in being there. She gave us a nod to proceed.

Then I shared Matthew 11.28 where Jesus said, ‘Come to me all who are weary and carry heavy burdens and I will give you rest‘. Whilst I was sharing suddenly tears began to run down her cheeks. She opened up to us and explained how she was abandoned by her husband. Finally, after further counselling she accepted Christ as her Saviour and she was joyful”.
