Outreach to Sa Kaew and Sisaket in June

When we had school outreaches in Sa Kaew we felt there was a lot of spiritual opposition. Our first night there none of us could sleep, and all felt very disturbed all night. That is very unusual. We have been to hundreds of places for school outreaches and never felt like that before. The next day we asked to sleep in a different place.

The first day in the schools we were very tired and prayed a lot. At the schools in those two days though the response was very good. The Buddhist teachers kept thanking us for coming, and many children wanted to get our lessons.

open to gospelIn Sisaket we visited 8 schools in the province. One teacher said she had never seen anything like this and was very open to the gospel. Local church members who accompanied us had an opportunity to bless and pray for the teachers in that school.

Please pray that those children and teachers who heard the Gospel last month in Sakaew and Sisaket will start to look for God and get a hunger for more of God’s word. Pray that they would get joy from reading about Jesus in the booklets they got and want to sign up for our Bible lessons.

Bible Lessons

Continue to pray for our Bible lessons project and the children doing our lessons. We have now found a very experienced editor who can help us greatly. Bu is actually one of the original Team staff and we are really grateful she is willing and able to give her time!

The Team

amazing teamPlease pray for the Thai Team staff: Noinon & Jeen, Kanchana, Tossapon, Corin, and Nut. Pray also for Saara & Markus and the advisory board who will meet in August at some point. Pray that our lives would bring glory to God, and that the everyday struggles we may have would not pull us down.

Please also pray that we would see how God provides for our individual needs and gives each and every one of us the strength and wisdom for this ministry.

At the moment we are praying for 1-2 new members for the Team. We are looking for a female Christian who is willing to learn and will get along with the Team and our principles. More specifically, we need someone with good internet/IT/graphic design skills (or a fast learner).

Online Lessons

In May and June Valerie was able to work with the Team on our project to develop online lessons. This project has great potential but is very challenging and we are also developing the same lessons as ‘paper’ lessons for sending by mail. These are still needed because more than 50% of Thai children do not have personal access to a computer or tablet. So it has grown into a huge project, with huge potential to help Thai children in urban and rural areas learn about Jesus in their homes.

Valerie was able to come alongside the Team as we worked together refining our focus and seeking ways to bring God’s truth to children living in Buddhist homes with no other way of learning about Jesus. Please keep praying for all who are working on this project.

Personal Stories

Prayer Requests from Children/Teens

keen to learnYour prayers really matter for these children! Ask that God would answer their prayers, and that they would see and feel He knows them and loves them. Please pray that they would learn to know Jesus more.

Ponchai (boy, 14): I want my mum and dad to believe in God as well. I would like them to be as happy as I am!

Waleewan (girl, 12): What can I do that my mum and dad would believe in God? I would like my whole family to believe.

Ganya (girl, 15): Pray for my parents, they don’t believe in God and they fight often. Please pray for myself too, I’m not very good at school.

Kesin (girl, 12): I’m so happy that I know God. I pray that I could pass all tests at school. I need wisdom from God.

Benyapa (girl, 8): Although I have learned a lot about God through the Bible lessons, I feel I’m far from him. Please pray for me that I would have more faith.

Recent Testimonies from Children/Teens

keen to readAsk for God’s abundant blessing on these children's lives. Pray that they would become a bright testimony of Jesus and his love in their families and among peers.

Muthida (girl, 12): I still remember when you came to my school and how much I liked the puppet show and everything. Thank you for bringing joy to us.

Janya (girl, 13): My parents used to fight a lot and be violent towards each other. It happened almost every day, until I prayed and asked God to help. Soon after that our life became better. Tell me, how could I get better at school and become happier?

Suchada (girl, 14): Once, I was very stressed because I couldn’t finish all schoolwork before the tests, and couldn’t complete the subjects because of that. The teachers said there’s nothing to be done and that I must do the courses again which made me even more stressed. I prayed, and the day after a teacher came to me and told they will give me another chance after all!

Nipakon (girl, 15): I received Jesus as my Saviour in November last year. I had never before heard about God, but my friends were studying your Bible lessons and I wanted to do that too. I really want to know God more, could you please send me the whole Bible so I can read further? I will pray for you too.

Plans for the Future

Outreach in Lopburi 15-18 August

For this outreach we also have a team of six young people from Finland with us. They will help with the music and join the prayer battle. Pray that both children and their teachers will be impacted by the message of hope and love. Pray that the seed that we sow will start growing and produce good fruit in their lives for the Kingdom of God!
