Recent Events

July

Thanks for praying for outreaches in Thepsathit last month … Some schools were challenging, especially in areas where witchcraft and fear of evil spirits were strong. Some children had a sadness/fear about them. But at every school as we started to speak about Jesus, there was an awareness of God being there and a hush as children really listened. An answer to your prayers! Please keep praying for God to bring His freedom and new life to these children.

great team

May those seeds of truth grow in each child and flourish. Pray too for the Pastor we worked with and his wife (Aiye and Buey). They gave these three Durian to the Team – a popular gift! Aiye and Buey are now going to each school, collecting enrolment forms from children who want to do our lessons and developing good, ongoing relationships in these Buddhist schools. Aiye already has openings in five schools to teach weekly classes in music and/or English.

Planning Meetings for Nationwide Youth Camp

NoiNon is a member of this planning committee – representing the central Thailand area. Please pray for him and the others as they plan this Camp to be held in October. Working to bring young people together from all over Thailand is an exciting challenge. They’re praying it will have an eternal impact in this land.

School Outreaches in Korat, Northeast Thailand 13-17th August

new bookPray for children who heard about Jesus in the school during this week. As each child took home our booklet, pray it will continue to speak to them, and to others in their family too. As many homes have no other books, may this booklet become a prized possession!

Pray for each child who has started doing our Bible correspondence lessons. May God help them understand His truth and make it real to them. For those who haven’t responded as yet, may God continue to speak to them and draw many of these children to Himself. For those whose family or community are opposed strongly to their children doing the lessons, may God help them and keep His truth in their hearts.

New Lessons - online and by correspondence

Work continues on the lessons. Pray especially for NoiNon and those helping him with the artwork for the lessons – for time to concentrate on each lesson. And pray for wisdom/guidance as we look for others to help with this work.

all about JesusA Special Development – Children doing lessons together in schools

Can you pray for children in three schools where they first heard about Jesus when we sent a packet of our children’s booklets to their school library. Now they’re joining together to do our lessons.
- Srisapon Primary School, Lamphun: 8 children now doing our lessons
- Huaynar Primary School, MaeHongSon: 4 children
- Hormkomuang Primary School, Lamphun: 10 children

And children in three schools where a teacher made our lessons a project:
- Huayka Temple school, in ChiangRai. 70 primary school children doing our lessons. The teacher who helps them is Malinee.
- Tungsrika Temple school, in Saraburi. 137 primary school children (helped by Sewapong)
- Rithaitip School, in Petchaboon. 1,169 children in primary and high school (helped by Prasree). Prasree sent in 1,169 names and they have all received the first lesson but not sure how many will continue doing them.

Personal Stories

lots to learnLetters from children last month

Please pray for each child doing our lessons, and the needs these letters represent:

Panitnan, 12: I prayed for God to help me and now I do better at school. The lessons help me know God. I like the cartoon style which means I read read them often. I feel like Jesus understands me and He is loving and wise too.

Yechar, 13: When I do each lesson I feel that Jesus is with me.

Timontar, 11: In my family I am sad because my father and mother have separated. My father is still at home, but my mother isn’t. I’m praying God will help them come back together.

Pisamon, 12: From your lessons I know Jesus gave His life to take our sins. And I know He is also creator. I really want Jesus to be my savior in all my life. When I am sad I feel Jesus close to me like my friend. Can you pray for me because I don’t do well at school and I get teased a lot.

Kanyapad, 13: I’m writing to say I believe in God now and trust in Him. I was so happy when you sent a New Testament after the 6th lesson. I read it every day and it gives me encouragement. My family is Buddhist but say it’s okay.

Supatra, 20: I’ve been doing the lessons since I was 13. Every time I do a lesson I learn more about Jesus. It’s like I have a new friend now who is always with me. If I have problems I pray and then things are not as bad.
