Letters from Students

Ruvelaine Hamis Eneria

BS Business Adminisation - Major in Marketing Management

I am hoping that you are all safe and healthy right now. Due to the pandemic outbreak that we are going through, being healthy and having a strong immune system is something we are all wanting. In spite of all the bad things that are happening, today I am praying that God will protect us always where we are.

This school year, 2020-2021, I am in my third year at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina college. On 6 July 2020 we were advised to select our subjects, how many units and to find out what section we belong in. We finished these online and submitted the form online too. As of now, I don't know what approach we are going to have when the class is about to begin because positive cases of COVID-19 are still increasing in our country. The school administration do not have a concrete plan if we will study online or will have face to face interaction with social distancing and masks on our faces. We are still waiting for their official statement.

May God guide us and provide protection for us, for our families and friends. Take care always and please be safe. God bless us all.

Comments from mentor: Ruvelaine is currently involved in the music ministry (singer/song leader) at church as well as being a Sunday school teacher and a member of a small group. As a scholar, she is continuing her studies right on track and not falling behind in any subject.

Mark Joshua Mondano

Bachelor of Secondary Education - Major in English, Minor in Mandarin

I am writing to thank you for being a sponsor to my scholarship. I was very happy and very eager to learn in school although I am not that smart but I am always willing to learn in class. Thank you for selecting me as a recipient of your scholarship.

I am doing a Bachelor in Secondary Education at Bulacan State University. After I finish this course, I plan to pursue a photography course because I really love photography. I am in my third year now and I hope that you will continue and extend my scholarship until I graduate college and finish all my studies. This pandemic affected my studies this last semester because the University stopped classes in the middle of the semester. I hope everything will be alright soon.

By granting my scholarship you have lightened my financial burden which allows me to focus on important aspects of my studies. I hope you are doing well and always keeping safe. I'm hoping you will keep doing good things, may the Lord continue to guide and bless you. Thank you!

Comments from mentor: As a student MJ is a striving student. Poverty does not stop him from realizing his dreams. Now, he is interested in photography and my way of supporting is to lend him my personal DSLR to practice his skill.

Camila Almirez

Public Administration

Camila sucessfully completed her senior high school year. At first it was a little disappointing for her and her family that the graduation ceremony was cancelled however they soon realised that it was all for the best. She successfully passed her entrance examination at Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology and had her college admission interview online. She is now waiting for the school's announcement of her enrolment schedule. She plans to take a Public Administration course.

During summer vacation, although the country was in quarantine, Camila tried to be resourceful to earn money for her college days. She sold potato fries and different flavoured lemonade to her neighbours. She is saving money to buy a computer to use for her online classes.

Her church involvement is as an assistant Sunday school teacher at LBCF church. She also provides technical support doing certificates, power point and other technology related tasks.

Lara Genevieve Dela Pena

Bachelor in Elementary Education

I hope that all of you are in good shape. I always pray for you. I am doing good with my study so you don't have to worry. I am now in my second semester at Bulacan State University. I have a lot of new friends, they are friendly and hardworking. They motivate me in my studies.

I would like to thank you for all the help that you are giving me. I always pray and thank God for your help. I wish nothing but genuine happiness for you and your friends. Thank you and God bless!

Mark Jeo Dacullo

Mark Jeo has successfully finished his senior high school although it saddened him that they didn't have a graduation ceremony because of the COVID-19 pandemic. He was sad because he waited for that special day where all his efforts would pay off. As you know, he is intelligent and very diligent in his studies. Thus he is the top from first to fourth grading, making him ranked first amongst his batch. He also got an excellence award in all his subjects. As well as the awards, he wanted to share his honor with his family who were supposed to be with him in his graduation. That wonderful thought was already in his mind.

When it comes to church, Jeo shows willingness to cooperate in any task given to him. His potential and skills are very helpful when it comes to youth programs as well as children's ministry. However, we still pray for his commitment as he is easily distracted with problems and peer pressures. As the only active Christian in the family, it is also challenging for him to share his faith to his family. Though he is planning to invite the church for a prayer meeting in their house, which we have already done twice, it is not yet possible with the present situation.
