Update from Johnnery Aspera July 2020

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! How are you? It’s been a hard time for all of us due to COVID-19 but glory to our Almighty God who always protects and care for us.

It was almost halfway through our second semester when our class was suspended until the end of the semester, which is the month of May. Many activities are postponed and not yet announced. Our university decided to give us a passing mark that is three (3) in all our subjects although it can be changed up until August 31, 2020 if we can comply with the requirements our professors demand without compromising our health. If we are not able to do it our grades can still be changed by passing our requirements from September 1 this year until August 31 of year 2021. Meanwhile, some of my professors become considerate of the situation and will give our final grades depending on our performances and activities before the class was dismissed but some of them are still waiting for their given requirements for us to be done. As my response, I am still trying to pass some of the activities before August 31, 2020 through an online platform. For now the start of our classes in our university for the next school year is still on August this year.

Regarding my church ministry, I’m still playing the guitar for our Lord and a channel of His message on the pulpit sometimes. God gave me new privileges and I’m very grateful for it. I became a back-up singer, sound system operator, and I’m one of the leaders of the youth in our church. I share God’s message in our youth life group after our service. Actually, there is a big difference in our family church life. That is the reason my ministries in His kingdom altered also but I am so grateful to God because these things are the desires of my heart. I feel so overwhelmed every time I play the guitar while singing, delivering His message, and guiding the youth towards Him more and helping them to grow for them to be able to do their purposes in God’s ministry. I’m always praying that they continue to seek God in their lives and never be out on their God-given path.

During this quarantine I joined the giving of relief in different barangays with my father. This is a project of our former mayor. In addition I start raising chickens for extra income for our family. I also started to raise rabbits because they became in demand in our place as a pet and a meat. Lastly I started selling t-shirts with designs of my own. I am praying that God guides me and holds our three projects to support our daily needs.

Before I end this letter I want to say thank you again because you really help me and my family for my college. I’m sure our God will bless you more than what you need, and may your hearts be fulfilled always of joy and peace!

Love,
Johnnery Jr. F. Aspera

Supervisor’s Report for Johnnery Jr. F. Aspera

Johnnery Jr. is now in his second year term of his course, BS in Mechatronics Engineering at Bulacan State University. The update from Department of Education is that classes will begin on 24th of August 2020. Further notice will be forwarded as to whether classes would be either physical or online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

While locked down for 3 months, Johnnery made himself available doing some mission work. He joined the group of Candaba Pastor giving relief goods through the goodness of Danway Processing Corporation. He even wrote articles and made blogs about COVID and its effect. He found time also enhancing his talents playing guitar and keyboard. Thank you my brethren for all the support and encouragement.

Love and prayer,
Emelinda Aspera
