Letters from BHW Sponsored Students

Daisy Jane Tamon

With all my heart, I would like to express my gratitude for giving me the opportunity to finish my studies as I am about to graduate this coming April.

I've been through many struggles and hardship just to achieve this milestone and I will be forever thankful and grateful for the support that you have given to me for without you this would all be impossible. I will never forget the generosity you have shown to me and I'm looking forward to passing the same virtue to others someday.

Again, thank you and may God bless you more!

How are you? I want to share with you my college schooling experience. I am now in my third year at college. During my first semester it was quite hard for me especially my major subjects but thanks God I passed it all and I didn't fail any subject. I think it is awesome too as I have new friends and new professors.

Right now it is my last semester as a third year college student and I think there's no problem in my grades now. The subjects are very hard but I am enjoying it because I have many friends that help me. This semester I am very busy, full of projects, quizzes and we have feasibility studies. It is like a thesis but feasibility studies have eight chapters while a thesis has four chapters only. I didn't have enough sleep for a week while doing this project but after all this our feasibility study is finally done and my professor accepted it and she didn't give it back for correction. Me and my groupmates were very happy and now I think I didn't have a problem with my grades in the second semester.

I thank God for all the blessings that we are receiving and I'll pray that there's many blessings to come to my family and to my church.

Thank you for helping me and other scholars. God bless!

Johnnery Aspera

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you for choosing me as your scholar but first I thank God for using you as an instrument for helping me in my studies. My name is Johnnery Aspera but sometimes they call me Mico, 16 years old and I am a pastor's son. I will give my best to my church ministries and studies to pay back as a gratitude.

In my church ministries, I am one in the music team as drummer. I ask God to give me more knowledge and skills in drumming because I started drumming in the last three months only. I am also entrusted by God and our elders and pastor of our church to deliver God's message from the pulpit sometimes. For me being a messenger of God's Word is not easy and like in drumming I ask God for his guidance and wisdom. I love singing so I always give special number to God in Sunday Service.

About my studies, I am now studying in Berean Baptist Academy. Being a senior high is exciting and enjoying for me because it is all new and different from junior high. I love the subjects more than junior high so I have been more enthusiastic than stressed. For our final grade in the first semester, I got the highest grade in all subjects and I thank God for giving me that privilege. I am part of Supreme Student Council Executive Committee, being part of it is tiring but I am grateful because I am learning a lot in it. However now, in our finals of second semester, it is quite tiring because it is has many projects, assignments, plus our thesis and our defense but I thank God for sustaining my needs and helping me to accomplish all things I have to.

Talking about my family, I have one sibling and she is older than me. Before, I am thinking why we are not financially stable, but now I realise I am so blessed because I have a family serving God, a father who is a missionary pastor, doing ministry for Jesus, and we go to church every Sunday. Someday I want to be famous inventor and writer and I will look back to God, to my family, to you my sponsor and to all people that God uses as an instrument to achieve the things I will. I wish someday I would meet you personally to give thanks.

Tena Koutou! Magandang araw! Greetings to you! I thank God that again I have this opportunity to write a letter for you.

I am 16 years old and currently in 11th grade. This is my first year as a senior high school student. It was not easy. It was mind-blowing. The first term has ended. I dealt with new and harder challenges. This is a very unfamiliar environment for me. I even encountered teachers who give plenty of projects and activities. I chose the strand, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Honestly science is not my forte and mathematics is definitely not my thing but I believe that with God, nothing is impossible. I took every exam with a secret weapon - prayer. And by the strength and wisdom from God I was able to finish the first quarter with satisfying grades. My general average is 94 and I got a 100 on my general mathematics subject, to God be the glory!

I am a pianist in our church and a small group leader. Last June 2017 we were only five but today I am handling nine young girls. I am very happy whenever I see improvements from them. They come from poor families and grew up in a worldly environment. I believe that someday they will also be leaders and preach the gospel to everyone.

You are my inspirations! Whenever I feel down or discouraged, God reminds me of you. There are people who believe in me, friends who cheer for me and those are you! I want to bless you back and offer the Lord grades that you deserve. I will do my best! God bless!

Good day sponsors. I am hoping that you are in good condition experiencing the love and grace of the Lord. I would like to thank you for all the generosity you have shown me as you support me financially for my studies. Currently I am in my third year at college. This year has been very tough and challenging since all of my subjects are major subjects and we are preparing for our thesis. This semester is full of life realisations for I have experienced a lot of trials however by the grace of the Lord I am step by step recovering.

As for my studies, currently I am working for my thesis in which we are to develop an application which is an android game. I am also praying that we are able to do it and pass the next semester's thesis defense. This semester is also a challenging term for me as I met a lot of new friends and situations that tested by Christianity and faith.

As for my ministry status, I am very much happy and thankful that I was able to little by little regain my fire to be in the activities in the church. I am also asking for your prayers as I also pray for your Christian growth and walk the journey seeking Christ.

I can say that I was put into test for all the trials and temptations I have been through these past few months but I thank God for He has given me the conviction that I am His property and the grace to move on and stand firm with Him. All in all, I wanted to thank you for being part of my journey and I will continue to pray for your success in life as you help people in need like me.

God bless you and more power!

Mark Joshua Mondano (new student)

I want to say thank you very much to the person who is willing to help me. I always prayed for this for a long period of time. Then while waiting, every passing day I feel hopeless. My brother died last September 2017. That is a big problem for me. I felt hopeless that time. I also tried to be a working student just to sustain my needs in college but I stopped because I always went home late at night and I cannot do my tasks in school and also I just want to focus on my studies. But now I can't believe this happened!

Thank you for giving me a chance. I hope we'll meet each other someday. Thank you and I thank the Lord for answering my prayers.

God bless you.
