Update from Chrissy and Sue Lukanga

Warm greetings from the ever warm and beautiful shores of the mighty Indian Ocean of Pemba, Mozambique.

Recent Events

Family

growing upWe arrived back in Pemba some two weeks ago from Zambia, after Sue had a very life threatening disease and sickness. We had to get to Zambia for her medication and treatment. We are glad to announce to you all that the Lord heard your prayers. Both Sue and Sonia are well and sound and our heartfelt thanks goes out to you all our wonderful and faithful partners, for your prayers and support to us. Especially to you all who stood with us during the life threatening moments we went through with Sue and Sonia, this was nothing but death, however God who is full of mercy and grace gave them another chance to live again for His glory. Because you prayed, God heard.

Ikumba has been with us since November 2015 but he goes back to FCE Zambia in two weeks time. He will still need a lot of support as FCE does not support trainees and he has no one supporting him as at now. Last year we had to meet all the expenses from our little income.

Katendi & Ilunga - Katendi is completing her grade 12 this year, while Ilunga is in Grade 10. We are greatly encouraged with the significant improvements they have made in their studies, much more with their love for the Lord.

Luwi - we will need to renew his immigration document on the 01 April 2016.

Church

The Lord is doing great things here, we are seeing souls being saved and delivered from powers of darkness and healings. Every Sunday we continue to run out of seats because we continue to receive new converts and visitors.

On the 27th March we will be baptizing 10-12 new converts and we are very excited to see people giving their lives to the Lord.

great guyJose Abilho Guilherm is doing very well with the whole church and especially with the youth. He continues to dedicate his life and efforts to the Lord therefore earning himself the respect and confidence of the fellowship. This is encouraging indeed especially the fact that Jose is coming from a Muslim background. This young man needs all the support. He is a qualified driver, a husband and father of two.

Transport

We are still praying for the provision of a vehicle to keep us mobile especially now that we have people spreading around Nyasa and Tanzanian boarders which are among the areas of most need. We will need to visit them from time to time and also take our evangelistic teams out in those rural areas.

Pemba English Christian School

We are still praying for someone with education expertise who at the same time is cross-cultural mission minded who could buy into our vision to come and head this work to have an impact on the coming generation. It is essential for a person to head it up who will make it their ministry. We strongly believe that the school would run independently of the church and our vision, conviction and environment is demanding for a boarding school.

Prayer and Praise Points

1) Praise the Lord for Sue and Sonia’s health
2) Pray for financial support for Ikumba
3) Pray that Luwi's immigration document is obtained successfully
4) Pray for Jose Abilho as he does so much work with the church
5) Pray for our need for a vehicle
6) Pray for someone to come and head up the Pemba English Christian School

With all the love, in His service

Chrissy & Sue Lukanga
