Rahab Ministries Newsletter November 2023

”For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

connecting with peopleHello friends,
Welcome to Rahab’s quarterly newsletter - November edition. I hope this letter finds you well. It has been six months since I started volunteering with Rahab and truly, I declare that faith begets faith! Connecting deeply with the ministry and remaining sensitive to God’s word, the Lord has shown me that he has not forgotten the women of this community. A new season is on the horizon for Rahab, as we seek to help the women in Patpong gain a deeper understanding of the powerful word of God and develop plans to make the foundation more sustainable and effective.

Recent Events

changing livesA New Heart

“I will give them a heart to know that I am the Lord, and they shall be my people and I will be their God, for they shall return to me with their whole heart.” Jeremiah 24:7

Earlier this year, we visited a bar where we were severely unwelcome by the Mama San who ran the bar. She was visibly angry and wanted us to leave, but we were persistent in returning to love on and build community with her and the other women who worked at this particular bar. Over the months, her heart has softened to the point that she has joined a Rahab outreach party, she has become incredibly inviting anytime we visit her bar and has become inquisitive about Christianity. We have come to learn that she has had some experiences with the Church over her life and we are praying that the good work that the Lord has begun in her, He will surely finish.

new opportunityRahab Crepe Shop

“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.” Psalm 37:5

An opportunity has arisen for Rahab to share a retail space with a prison ministry-owned smoothie shop. We are going to be using our portion of the shop to start a small crepe business, to be run by Git and Gaw. The shop is in a great location that benefits from high foot traffic. With their Bubble tea shop making steady progress, the sisters have recently trained their mother to make bubble tea drinks, increasing their capacity to work for Rahab starting up the crepe shop.
