Report from Navin Darlami (October - December 2021)

It is my great privilege to visit with you all through this reporting.

Ministry

Activities

From the beginning of 2021 till now, these months are challenging to visit village to village easily. I am not getting a chance to do any new training events in these pandemic times, but I am doing follow up with the connected team and groups to prepare further working. I am living together with family and praying for the further planning. I keep hope that the door will open soon to arrange more trainings. As well I did share the gospel among people individually.

As a couple we arranged a place and environment to look after quail birds, and some local chickens during these months. They are growing and giving a new experience to us. We have 50 quail and 30 local chickens. The quails and local hens are giving eggs. We are hoping that the income this generates will be a small help to fund the further training and ministries.

I am preparing some pictures of events that I did in these recent months. Basically, we visited some leaders for further planning, and we prayed with the team for further ministry. Our Sowers have established new churches, and some are ready to take water baptism. I visited Jajarkot, Jumla and Mugu district’s villages where this term I visited and encouraged churches that have been established through the ministry of SOWERS evangelists. I preached a message from the Word of God and I encouraged them to dedicate their lives to win more souls among their neighbours.

I slept and was on bed rest for 18 days because the Coronavirus affected my body. Three of my relatives passed away from this world and entered into God’s eternal kingdom heaven. They finished their race in this world. One is a pastor and the next is an elder of the same church. They were my own relatives and they were doing ministry in a branch church. I started to do God’s work after a week when I got free from Covid-19. Even though we are not free as a nation because corona is growing everywhere, and we are under the situation and times.

I would like to remind you too about those whose names I shared to become volunteer staff from different districts and provinces of Nepal, like Binod Gurung, Shila Shahu, and Nimraj Jaisee who has graduated from Bible college with a Masters in Divinity degree. Please continue to pray for them so maybe we can do more work in God’s kingdom together. I am discipling them for God’s kingdom for evangelism and church planting.

Personal

Our three children are growing in our family and they are achieving education in their college life. My health is good. I am doing God’s work in my nation to win more souls. I am living life in an evangelist role and are responsible to fulfil God’s calling even though we are unable to visit out from our home because of Covid-19 but we are secure till now. Our Nepal government is using Covid-19 antibiotic injections and they are providing these injections in priorities - I received the Johnson injection against corona.

My elder son and daughter are studying for bachelor's degrees and the youngest son is attending college for +2 grades. We have two grandsons from our daughter. My wife Hannah is happy and carries on with women’s prayer groups. We are doing individual evangelism ministry and preparing for it to continue for future days.

My wife’s health situation is quite good in His grace – better than historical times. She was ill with abdominal problems because she got an infection and bad pain. She was almost ready for an operation for this, but her health problem was solved without an operation and she got healing miracles in answer to the prayers of God’s people. We even used medical doctors too and that was a way of blessing in her life.

We are looking forward to new ways to serve in God’s kingdom beyond 2022 as Sowers International is giving individual guidelines and direction for serving methods but to serve the same God and His work. My children are also preparing their life for God’s work to help us in sharing the Good News so I am proud of them.

Life Change Story

Bir Bahadur Darlami believed in Christ and he and his wife were baptised recently. His wife was suffering from a demon spirit for many years. I shared the gospel with them four months ago. This family are growing in Christ and doing well. His family members are preparing to accept Christ in response to his wife’s witness after she got healing and freedom from the demon spirit.

This family has three sons and one daughter. The youngest son married three years ago and recently this week the second son married. Their elder son is not married yet and he is working in Saudi Arabia. The daughter is also married and her family also did accept Christ. This family has been chosen in Christ. They are from a Hindu priest family. They are a simple and general family. I shared the gospel with them occasionally for some years but they did not accept Christ easily, but his wife was suffering from a demon. They tried for a long time to get free from illness and suffering spirit. They sacrificed many animals and birds according to witch doctors but it was not an acceptable solution so they were worried in their family life.

One day four months ago I met with them in his wife’s hard sickness time. I shared about having hope in Christ. I prayed for them with their permission. I invited the church fellowship to her and prayed and did counselling for many weeks. She was so weak and thin. Nowadays she is improving in her health. She got free from demon spirit and diseases. This family are growing in Christ centred faith.

Plans for the Future

Recently the 3rd/4th variant infection is running in Nepal. Schools, colleges and religious places are in lockdown. I am looking forward to giving seminars and training to the church groups. I want to keep the same ministry plan and goals as shared in past months but I cannot make dates to do it as the Nepal government is not allowing us to do seminars and workshops now-a-days again. Church fellowships are not allowed to meet in a group.

I am praying to continue conducting seminars for Nepali churches to Go, Sow and Grow. I am focusing on establishing churches in the mountain and Himalayan districts of the nation. I want to visit church leaders to give seminars to their churches and evangelists as was the vision and provision since past times. I want to live my life to conduct seminars for other countries’ churches too in Asia. I am looking forward to doing seminars for churches as they are inviting me but corona is influencing the situation again.

I am continuing my focus to go to native people to save them in Christ. In Nepal there is a tribe called Raute who lives in the forest. I am praying for them and it is a challenge to bring Christ to them. There are around 250 members in their community. Their population is declining day by day. I met them two months ago on 20 December 2021 and carried some blankets to help them with the winter cold. I will not forget this vision to share the gospel to them even if it is a high cost to go among them. They never cultivate nor live in stable way and change their living place every 3 months. If any member dies in their living place, they change their living place immediately even before 3 months. We are not able to go and visit them without supplying big gifts.

They make different types of home using materials from wood and exchange with grains among other societies and markets. Monkey is their most liked meat. They never study and no one from their tribe is studying. Going to school and study is a crime for these tribes. No one has accepted Christ yet from these community people. The Nepal government and NGO/INGO's are trying to develop them by providing education and good settlement in their society but nobody is getting success to change their lifestyle. They never give their girls to marriage with other tribes but it is allowed for their men to marry with other tribes’ females. This tribe people are totally different among many, so I am focusing to pray and win these souls in Christ. It is a challenge and I am praying for them to win in Christ, so pray for us.

Doing visits and follow-up to the trainee groups from different churches till now is my focus again for encouragement. These points are in my continuing plan in my strategy for the future.

Comments

I am grateful to SOWERS International executive board members for giving me the special privilege to participate in God’s kingdom. I am learning and collecting more experience in my life for God’s provision. May God richly bless you all.
