Report from Nabin Darlami

SOWERS Nepal send warmest greetings in His mighty name. We are so much pleased to write about some significant events that have happened in these past 3 to 6 months.

Recent Events

Training Seminars

new traineesWe have seven wonderful volunteer teachers with our SOWERS national committee in Nepal. If needed to teach in seminars they do help. We select those who are well located geographically according to the seminar venue to minimize cost as much as possible. We have done Level 1 and 2 seminars in three different places with church groups and in training centers like in Bible colleges as they have requested us to provide seminars. We have done one seminar in Bethesda Bible College (BBC) in Kathmandu among 13 students. Another seminar was done for the Discipleship Training School (DTS) at Aabukhaireni on the way to Pokhara where there were 14 trainees. Also seminars were done at the Himalayan Bible Training Center (HBTC) at Surkhet where there were 16 trainees.

These Training Center students and pretrained trainees were sent out to share the gospel among unreached people in remote villages. 900 people heard the gospel. More then 700 gospel tracts sharing faithwere handed out to the people. 29 people have accepted Christ and they are attending different churches for fellowship according to their living location. Evangelists suffered from some genuine Hindu and Buddhist people but our evangelists demonstrated their faith in Christ. 21 people have been baptized (see pictures).

New Leaders

People who accepted Jesus have joined in church leadership ministries as they are developing themselves and demonstrating their faith in Christ among the societies whom we are helping.

These pastors and leaders are from different churches, among them are some women leaders and youth leaders who are from AOG Church, Evangelical Church leaders and some are from a free Church, i.e. not a denominational church. They are doing partner ministries with us for gospel sharing and church planting and also biblical book translation through the Christian society of districts/regions. Because of the Christian community we together do God’s ministry as a movement for gospel and church planting voluntarily. We collect offerings from churches for ministries and witness. We pray together once every month.

Personal Stories

Dinesh Chanda

special dayBrother Dinesh Chanda is 42 years old and is a volunteer elder in Nayagaun Church, Pokhara, Nepal. He is married and this couple has two children. The children are growing and studying. His wife is helping in the health sector. He joined SOWERS Ministries Nepal three years ago as a volunteer but since last year he has been giving more time. He was trained in SOWERS seminar and its curriculum. This has been so effective for him and he is using this method to share the gospel. He is also arranging seminars for some parts of Nepal.

He is helping myself and my team to run this ministry in Nepal by partnering with us as he is able.

This brother is serious about serving God through arranging and providing seminars for Nepali churches because he saw a clear vision to take part to share the gospel in the great commandment of Jesus after taking the SOWERS seminar. He has dedicated his life for gospel sharing.

James Tamang

Brother James Tamang is a 43 year old teacher and Principal of a Leadership Training Center in Kathmandu. He is a Committee member for SOWERS ministry in Nepal. He has arranged seminars in his Training Center many times and is partnering voluntarily with us. He teaches students and prepares leaders for various ministries in his Training Center but concentrates on evangelism and church planting which are strong points for him.

Brother James is blessed with a Christ-centered heart and he cannot keep away from evangelism and church planting with social activities.

Partnership's Influence within the Community

hearing good newsChurch leaders and Training Center missionary people are expressing their heartbeat that SOWERS ministry is most necessary to teach skills to win souls through Nepal’s churches which is regarded as a very effective method among many.

43 people have been trained, 29 people have become Christians, 21 people have been baptized and two churches have been planted in the six months from the end of 2016 to the beginning of 2017.

Ideas for the Future

These points are future plans and strategies;
a) Need to arrange more then 12 seminars and have funds for it
b) Gospel sharing to 1,000 people
c) 1,000 gospel literature to distribute
d) Target is to give baptism to 30 people
e) Produce 10 teachers to teach seminars
f) Funds to construct buildings for newly planted churches
g) Accommodation and travelling costs for tutors
h) To provide materials for seminars and good health to all
i) To start social projects

seminar trainingCurrent Issues and Challenges

My biggest challenge is to provide funds to run more seminars and then church construction/fellowship for the groups who come to Christ.

We are facing financial problems to run more seminars because we have no funds for seminars and training through SOWERS Ministries. This year we ran very few seminars because of insufficient finances but we want to run more seminars.
