March 2022 Update

grateful to GodGreetings in the Lord’s name, “The Army is prepared against the day of battle: but victory is of the LORD.”

We are very grateful to God and to you for your commitment and faithfulness as partners in praying for us as a family and God’s work in Mozambique. We are also grateful to God, despite many challenges such as insurgence in the north of the country which has caused internal displacement of many believers, two cyclones in February and March in the same area, and Covid-19. We have a lot to share and to give thanks for.

Recent Events

Cyclones

We are asking for the prayers of believers; nature has caused a lot of damage. Two cyclones Ana and Gombe have wreaked havoc on many lives twice within seven weeks. Homes have been swept away, homelessness and food have been the cry of many of the believers affected. Tropical storm Gombe has left seven dead. Ana came in February, did the damage and left people in tears. Gombe came the second week of March in the same provinces. Please pray with us for the homeless believers. There is such an increase in poverty and suffering of believers in the area.

slower paceActivities

As a result of Covid-19 and the unpredictable weather circumstances, the Mobile Discipleship Program for Elders in six provinces has been progressing at a slow pace.

However, there have been some exciting happenings in Maputo Assembly to rejoice and give thanks to God for. On 5th March we had a Sunday School Teacher’s Day for the 15 teachers of Maputo Assembly. On the 12th of March a workshop on “LIFE WITHOUT CHRIST” gave us understanding on the spiritual wilderness of many young people in our Assemblies. We were blessed.

good timeJoyful noise in the Mission Centre (Maputo Assembly): Sundays can no longer cater for Sunday School and family meetings therefore we conduct children ministry on Saturdays. To our surprise, children of families whom we share the church property boundaries with, and who have never stepped in our Church Hall, surprisingly enough after the lockdown they have become regular attendants. Pray for the salvation of their parents.

It is interesting and encouraging to see children and teenagers in big numbers flocking to the church meetings. Seven classes for children are on Saturday while three classes for the young people are held every Sunday morning before the family service.

Let all Christendom rejoice with us by giving thanks to God and to the team at Bible Educational Service, for the great work done for Hora Biblica material which came through on the last day of February.

Comments

keen to comeThank you for your prayers and financial support for the work in Mozambique. I always wonder what we would have done if God had not raised you to support His work in this part of the world.
