serving togetherOctober Update

Greetings in the Lord’s name. We are well and looking to our Lord Jesus who is the captain of the battle. The COVID-19 restrictiion measures have been reduced and we have resumed our assembly meetings nationwide. We are looking forward to picking up where we stopped the discipleship project, due to COVID-19. Pray with us that the spiritual need may be met in this fast-growing church.

Recent Events

Insurgency

The coastal town of Palma, which was under attack by insurgents linked to the Islamic State, has been liberated by Rwandan forces and the Mozambique army. The key northern port of Mocimboa da Praia where al-Shabab, the rebels, used to launch a series of attacks across the oil fields has been taken over by the government. At present one of our elders from the Maputo church is working in that province from the security wing.

Desperation

Thousands of displaced people are in desperate need of food, shelter, and health services. Homes have been burnt down and churches turned into ruins. There has been so much destruction and killings, you wonder if such people or religious group are normal.

lots of kidsChildren's Work

“Greater works than these shall you do...” The children are good although we have no space as more children come and we cannot turn them away. We no longer meet on Sunday; the joyful noise is now brought on Saturday. Pray with us for the completion of the extension of church hall.

Our every day life with the youth group, it is a process. Getting them back to school has been a great challenge although many under our care have shown interest in school and in the things of God. We teach them and we discipline them when they go wrong, they are getting involved in the church activities. No sweat without tears.

needs extending“God is faithful and just to forgive your sins”. Some of the boys abandoned school and ran away from being questioned, getting entangled with street life, while girls getting pregnant. They disappear into the community, we follow-up and tell them that they are not the worst sinners.

Maputo Assembly

Can anything good come from this community? The answer is yes, there is nothing to hard for the Lord our God. From Sunday School to university, they love the Lord. Pray with us, that they should be employed as the majority will be graduating this year. A number were delayed in graduating and getting jobs due to the pandemic.

meeting together now“Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in us will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus”.

Whatever standpoint we may be, if our faith is to be genuine we must not neglect those who are struggling in whatever way. I’m challenged every day.

Comments

Thank you for you continued support for us. You have prayed, and you have given, no wonder we are able to say, “if God is for us who can be against us….”.

Your partnership is highly appreciated, yours in Christ Jesus,
