Pakistan flood relief

23 August

Monsoons have flooded much of Northern Pakistan displacing thousands of families and leaving masses homeless, but no major relief efforts have yet begun to reach the hardest hit regions. We have been in contact with Pastor Edward Qaser, one of our partners in Pakistan (PAK02). PEGM is very involved in providing aid but funds are required to get supplies and volunteers to where they are most needed.

"Our pastors and their church people need help.  They are living under the sun, even they have no food and clothes. Their children are dying with malaria, they need medicines and proper food and water."

Donations to help the flood victims in Pakistan can be made directly into BHW's bank account (02-0800-0733739-002 - reference Pakistan flood) and will be forwarded on to Pastor Qaser.

Expecting twins

Expecting twins!

18 August

Abel and Anita (DRC) have recently found out they are expecting twin baby girls.  Unfortunately Anita has been troubled by severe asthma and on Saturday night had trouble breathing such that they took her to hospital in the morning.  The doctor has advised that they need to act quickly and deliver the babies (3 weeks early). However this means she will need to be assisted by a specialist which necessitates travel to either Kinshasa or Lubumbashi this week.

Please pray for Abel and Anita, that God will provide the $1,200 they need for travel and accommodation, for peace for them as they admit to being very confused and afraid currently, and that the babies will be born safely.

Lane Davis

April - December

For the next 9 months, Lane will be traveling throughout Africa and Asia to over 14 countries visiting Bright Hope World partners. He will be spending time with some of the poorest of the poor. Learning and observing their stories. Tragic, beautiful, atrocious, ludicrous, unbelievable, miraculous, pure, unfiltered stories of our brothers and sisters in this world. His job is to help tell those stories. His passion is to help give voice to the people who have none. All through a camera lens.

Lane spent April in Ethiopia, May in Kenya, June in Zambia and will visit South Africa, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Zambia during July.
