Naya Bihani Plungdung Knitting Center

It is a great joy to inform you about the new Knitting Center Naya Bihani has initiated at Plungdung Village, where Brother James visited and talked to the people as well as encouraged them to do the self-sustaining training. I took time to plan and make it work and find the best possible way to implement the training.
We started with prayer and dedication of the center. It was so surprising to see 15 women come to learn and there are a few more who are also willing to do the training. It is going to be an interesting thing for the villagers.

We have started the center in the lower portion of the church - the church has made a big room available for the center which is a great joy. The people are there to learn and be trained. I have bought three new machines and transferred the two machines we already had so together we have five knitting machines. The teacher is one of our church members and she is willing to go three days a week and daily come back to Darjeeling.
We have agreed to pay Rs. 3500 as support to her as well as Rs. 2000 for the travel fare so together .jpg)
the monthly expense will be Rs. 5500 (US$88/month). The wool will be bought by the students. We are planning to give the training free of charge because in the village if we charge a fee then it is not easy and the villagers will not come. The students will get the free training but they will need to buy their own wool which will cost Rs. 400 a month for learning, practicing and making certain things.
It is a six to seven month course and I am glad I am able to do this for the Lord and for His Kingdom. There will be classes for 12 days in a month (3 days a week). It is going to be challenging for the teacher but she is happy to do it.

Beauty Parlour Training Centre
It is also a great joy and blessing to send photos of our beauty parlour.
We have already admitted 13 students and that is sufficient for one batch. We are no longer taking admissions for the first batch as we will have some difficulty in managing any more people than this. We have divided them into two groups and are having classes for them three days each. There are a few more people who wanted to come and join us but we are not taking them right now however will take them for next batch.

Please uphold Naya Bihani Plungdung Knitting Center and the Glow Beauty Parlour in your prayers. May the good God bless and expand them for His name. So we now have two initiatives in Darjeeling for training a handful of girls. To date 28 women/girls are getting direct training in the Beauty Parlour as well as the Knitting Center. We are so glad and happy that the Lord is strengthening us in this way.
