Update from Rehema Mercy Ministry

good projectBy divine grace, we thank the Lord for His protection and blessings upon us. Rehema Mercy Ministry is certainly continuing its activities.

Recent Events

Goat Project

We thank the Lord because the goat project has progressed well. Last year's funds were used to distribute 13 goats to community members other than the orphans who benefited in 2023.

caring for orphansPersonal Stories

Mr Zagabe Alexis and Mr Masayi Geque helped take in two orphans (Furaha Mushagalusa Marie and Faida Mushagalusa Mariette). They received two goats in 2023 and now already have six goats, as those two goats each gave birth to one kid, twice over. Alexis is an honest man who told us that, starting with those goats, he himself bought a buck to breed them. The two orphans under his responsibility will decide what to do with these goats when each will have at least five goats.

funding uni fees

Mrs Nzigire Justine is a woman who works as an intercessor at a Methodist Episcopal Church. She has shown unconditional love for an orphan, Vivianne Mola, who is struggling to attend university. The goat given to Vivianne is being cared for by Justine, with whom she lives in the same house. This goat has already given birth twice, once to twin kids. Vivianne now owns four goats. During our interview with her, she said she plans to wait until next year and then sell her goats to pay for a year of university, as her dream is to earn her degree in Pharmacy.

tough family life

Mr Balungwe lost his son who was diabetic and died too young, leaving four children orphaned. To make matters worse, six months later his daughter-in-law also fell ill and suffered a stroke. Last year, Mr Balungwe came to us for help, and Rehema Mercy Ministry decided to give him two goats that were still available for distribution, but with the intention of giving him at least four (according to the number of orphans he keeps). Here in this photo is Mr Balungwe with the two goats.

Comments

Currently, Rehema Mercy Ministry greatly appreciates this programme, which seems to be having lasting results on the lives of the beneficiaries. While we initially intended to serve only orphans, we have discovered that there are also poorer families who need goats for a dual purpose: as a source of income and as fertilizer for their fields. The project will continue at least until 2027, at which point we will have served a large part of the community. Last year, we decided that each family receiving a goat would give a kid to another family, continuing this cycle to build social cohesion.

Thank you, and we pray that God our Lord blesses all of us.
