Update from Fountain of Hope

changing livesOn behalf of the Fountain of Hope team, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to Bright Hope World for the unwavering support you continue to render to our communities, children, and young people across Zimbabwe. Your partnership is not just financial — it is a lifeline of dignity, hope, and transformation.

Through your generosity, families are being lifted from poverty, children are being restored to safety and opportunity, and young people are being equipped with skills that ignite hope for a brighter future. The support you provide restores dignity where it was lost, strengthens fragile households, and gives communities the courage to dream again.

We are deeply inspired by the way your involvement has empowered Fountain of Hope to stand with downtrodden communities. This commitment has not gone unnoticed — the Government of Zimbabwe has recognized the impact of our work and has invited Fountain of Hope to participate in Livelihood Assessment exercises.

beacon of hopeWe thank God for the testimonies being written in Makamure, Peniel, Mthombothemba, Chikofa, Heany, Majiji, and Mtshazo. Lives are being challenged, changed, and renewed. Hope is rising where despair once reigned.

Thank you, Bright Hope World, for standing with us. Together, we are not only transforming communities — we are shaping the future of Zimbabwe.

Transformation Centre

The Mthombothemba Transformation Centre continues to be a beacon of hope, dedicated to uplifting the community through programs that support children and families.

games and activitiesBridging School: This program assists children who have been out of formal education for extended periods, preparing them for reintegration into mainstream schooling. Currently, 14 students are enrolled, receiving tailored support that is helping them regain confidence and academic ability. Many have already shown remarkable progress in literacy, mastering phonics, reading, and writing — even learning to write their own names.

AWANA Program: The AWANA program engages an average of 50 formal school children and 14 bridging school children. Through games, activities, and Bible-based lessons, children learn moral values, spiritual truths, and life skills. This initiative fosters holistic development, ensuring that children grow not only academically but also spiritually and socially.

supplies fresh foodNutritious Garden: The Centre’s nutritious garden supplies fresh food for both the Bridging School and AWANA programs. Beyond improving children’s diets, the garden also generates resources that help provide stationery and other essentials for the Bridging School.

Our Team: The Centre is staffed by a dedicated team of four individuals: a social worker offering emotional support, two Bridging School teachers, and a cook who ensures the children are well-fed. Their commitment ensures that every child receives care that goes beyond academics.

Achievements:
• Academic Progress: Children are regaining literacy skills and confidence.
• Spiritual Growth: Many children are learning the salvation prayer, with two now regularly attending church.
• Clothing & Uniforms: Donations have been transformed into school uniforms, meeting a critical need.
• Health Initiatives: Dental issues were addressed through the provision of toothbrushes and toothpaste, guided by the social worker’s recommendations.

Through these programs, the Transformation Centre is not only restoring education but also nurturing dignity, faith, and holistic well-being.

Pre-School Program

laying foundationAlongside the Transformation Centre, the Pre-school continues to lay a strong foundation for young learners. Children are introduced to early literacy, numeracy, and social skills in a nurturing environment. The pre-school ensures that children from disadvantaged backgrounds begin their educational journey with confidence and hope.

The program also emphasizes spiritual growth, with children participating in songs, prayers, and Bible stories. This early grounding in faith and values prepares them not only for school but for life.

Spiritual Foundation

At Mthombothemba, every program is anchored in faith. Whether through AWANA, the Bridging School, or the Pre-school, children are consistently pointed to Christ. The Centre is not just about education — it is about transformation of the whole person: body, mind, and spirit.

The Mthombothemba Transformation Centre and Pre-school are powerful testimonies of what happens when practical support and spiritual care come together. Children who were once excluded from education are now learning, growing, and thriving. Families are being strengthened, and the community is experiencing renewal.

Foundations for Farming & Engunwini Garden

increasing food securityThe greatest desire of Fountain of Hope is to increase food security in poor, dry areas of Zimbabwe. Through your partnership, Bright Hope World, this dream is steadily becoming reality. Families who once struggled to feed their children are now harvesting enough to sustain themselves, and in many cases, producing surplus to share or sell.

At Mthombothemba, the Foundations for Farming program continues to shine across the Matabeleland region. This year, many people came to learn from the community’s example, and even government officials attended the field day held in the community. This recognition shows that what began as a small initiative is now influencing broader agricultural practice and policy.

The Engunwini Garden, run faithfully by local women, is another testimony of transformation. These ladies are able to harvest fresh green vegetables for their families, ensuring better nutrition for their children. Beyond meeting household needs, they are also selling the surplus, generating income that strengthens their families’ resilience.

This combination of food security and income generation is a powerful tool against poverty. It restores dignity, reduces vulnerability, and gives families hope for the future.

Thank you, Bright Hope World, for your support. Without your partnership, these gardens would not be flourishing, and families would not be experiencing the joy of harvesting food from their own land.
