2020/21 Sewing Courses

Greetings to all the team at the BHW office.

First of all I would like to thank you for all your prayers, blessings and support to continue the work of the Lord in all sorts of community development social/spiritual projects. Without your special support we cannot be much of an impact. Thank you so much once again for sending the funds for sewing and adult education programmes in two villages. By God's grace I was able to revisit these villages from 25-29 November 2020.

Recent Events

Sewing Classes

keen to learnWe have delivered ten new Rocket sewing machines (five to each village) plus basic materials to start these sewing projects. Five more machines will be given to each of these sewing classes in the next couple of months.

The classes have started on Tuesday 1st December 2020 and will be completed on Tuesday 31st August 2021. Each course runs for 9-months, two hours per day, Monday-Friday each week. The students are required to learn to make a lady's suit (shalwar and Kameez) within the 9-months in order to qualify to graduate and receive a certificate and sewing machine.

The sewing class in village 304 JB Kathoor (photo above right) has 30 women attending and in the other village (281 JB - photo below) there are 15 women ready to learn the sewing art.

keen to learnThe rent for two months, electricity bill, and one month (December) of the sewing teacher's salaries has paid in advance, due to the Christmas season.

We trust these courses will be well organised and great community developing tools.

Village Details

Village #304 JB: This village is near Gojira city. The women in this village have never had any training programme like this before and approached us asking us to run a sewing course. There are 56 families in this village, most of whom work in a nearby brick factory, and nearly 100 women are keen to be trained.

In addition to the sewing courses (we intend to run two), we also are planning to start a Bible training programme/seminar and an adult education programme.

Village #281 JB: This village is 40km from Faisalabad, south towards Gojira. Again, there has never been any sort of training like this in this village and the women approached us to run a course. There are 60 families in this village and a number of small surrounding villages, and more than 50 women who could be trained in the two courses. We will also start a Bible training programme and adult education programme in this village.

Thank you for all your efforts, prayers, blessings and support to launch these two new sewing courses for 2020-2021.

God bless you and all yours, to welcome December 2020 inspite of this challenging year.

With kind regards and blessings,

In Him
