Update on John & Nok from Lorraine Dierck (World Outreach Thailand)

Thank you so much for your generous support of John and Nok's work here. Your prayer and financial support is making a real difference to them as they work to extend the Kingdom of God among Thai Buddhists.

I have been back in Thailand for almost two months now and during this time I have had the privilege of spending quite a bit of time with John and Nok and seeing what they have been up to. They told me they are mainly focused on making disciples and starting new groups of believers in many different parts of Thailand where there have never been any Christian believers or churches.

Recent Events

Pathumthani Church

The work at Pathumthani church is going well with lots of new believers there and they are also spending half of their time away training leaders of new church groups that are popping up all over the place. The Burmese congregation at Pathumthani church is also flourishing with about 80 Burmese migrant workers joining in each week.

Writing Lessons

Nok has written a series of lessons similar to "Following Jesus" but re-written for new believers from a Buddhist background. They have been received well and Nok said people are growing in the Lord through studying these lessons.

Training

Last month Nok took two of her young leaders to Khon Kaen in the north east of Thailand to do some training and last weekend they visited four new churches in Supanburi where there are over 100 new believers who have come to Christ during the past year.

Plans for the Future

At the end of July both John and Nok will go to Lampang province to train some leaders on how to use Nok’s “Following Jesus” lessons to make disciples. Next month they will run a two day training seminar at Pathumthani church on how to reach Thai Muslims.

Prayer Points

Please can you keep praying for John as the leukemia continues to cause weakness, dizziness and pain in his feet. He is finding it quite challenging to travel so he is concentrating on leadership development at Pathumthani church while Nok goes out and trains the leaders.

Comments

Most of the time I have spent with them has been spent listening to their stories and challenges and then praying together. John and Nok said they are thankful not only for the financial support from BHW but also for praying for them.
