Report Date: September 22, 2025

Update from EGM

new skillsGreetings from Pakistan,

We are glad to share with you a report from the Malakand sewing centre where seven Afghan and three Pashtun women completed their course.

Recent Events

Activities

The sewing centre in Malakand successfully completed its second 6-month training program, equipping women with valuable skills in tailoring and stitching. The program was specially designed to empower women—primarily Afghan refugee women and a few from the Christian community—by giving them the opportunity to gain economic independence and dignity through vocational training.

gratefulGraduation Ceremony Highlights
Completion of Training: A group of 10 women completed the 6-month sewing and tailoring course.

Gifts and Recognition: Each graduate received a certificate of completion and a sewing machine to help them start their own small businesses and support their families.

Encouragement and Prayer: The ceremony was blessed by Pastor Manzoor Jalal, who prayed for the women and encouraged them to use their skills for the betterment of their families and communities.

Personal Stories

gratefulOne Afghan Muslim woman who completed the training shared her heartfelt words:

“I came to this sewing centre with no skills and no hope for the future. Today, I can stitch clothes for my children and also earn an income by serving my community. Receiving a sewing machine and certificate is a big honour for me. I thank Bright Hope World and EGM Pakistan, brother Waqar, teacher and all those who supported us. This training has changed my life and given me confidence.”

Her story reflects the deep impact this program has made in the lives of refugee women, giving them both a livelihood and dignity.

Impact of the Program

Economic Empowerment: The sewing machines and skills will allow the women to earn an income from home.

Community Development: The training encourages self-reliance among refugee women, reducing financial pressure on their families.

Social Upliftment: Providing skills and recognition boosts the women’s self-confidence and opens opportunities for a brighter future.

Comments
