REAP Sabah, Malaysia Evangelists Report for July - December 2024

Dear partners in the harvest,

Shalom and greetings in Jesus’ matchless and mighty name. I trust you are experiencing God’s goodness and grace as you serve and honour Him.

Thank you for your faithful support and prayers for the gospel outreach in rural Sabah.

The combined labour of 38 REAP Sabah evangelists yielded:
- over 66,042 evangelised,
- over 17,295 conversions to Christ,
- over 6,331 baptised,
- 149 rural churches planted, and
- 7,200 Bibles sent to the new converts.     

We give the glory to God and thank you for partnership in the gospel. (2 Cor. 9: 6; Is. 55: 11). Below are the reports of the REAP Sabah evangelists for your prayers and thanksgiving.

              

JK

JK is a 54-year-old married man with four children.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) The congregation who have heard the Gospel, to read the Bible and become living witnesses in their community. 
2) The church renovation, such as funds, manpower, and building materials. May this church be a place of blessing for many people. 
3) The Lord to raise a generation of youth with hearts longing to serve Him and having the desire to enter Bible school. May their hearts respond to the call to ministry.
4) Good health, physical and mental strength for me and my family. 
5) Strength and wisdom in my ministry. 

I give thanks to God in my ministry. Although challenges and trials come and go, the Lord always grants me perseverance and strength to keep moving forward. There were moments when I felt tired and wanted to give up, but through the prayers of fellow servants and the congregation. I felt an extraordinary spiritual support. Their prayers became a source of strength for me to keep holding onto God's promises. 

Every challenge I face is not meant to weaken me but rather to strengthen my faith and dependence on the Lord. 

Today I stand firm not because of my own strength, but because of the Lord who sustains and lifts me. I will continue to serve faithfully because I know that every effort made for the Lord will not be in vain. All glory to the Lord. 

 

JA

JA is a 40-year-old man who is married with five children.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) The faith of the congregation, granting them a longing to delve deeper into His Word. 
2) The hearts of those who have heard the Gospel to decide to accept Jesus. May the Holy Spirit work in their lives, giving them courage and conviction to receive salvation in Christ. 
3) Wisdom to those involved in follow-up ministry, enabling them to share His Word with love, patience, and relevance, leading souls to salvation. 
4) My family's hearts steadfast in service. May He provide strength, enthusiasm, and perseverance to face all challenges, and use my family as a channel of blessings to many. 
5) Every need: spiritual, physical, and financially that my family can continue serving joyfully and without hindrance. May He bless our work, health, and daily life. 

Praise the Lord for His tangible guidance in my ministry. I am truly grateful that God is performing great works among our congregation. There were members who seldom attended worship services, but now more people are coming joyfully and eager to seek the Lord. I have observed closer unity among the congregation in ministry. They have started collaborating better, supporting each other in church activities, and opening their hearts to serving the Lord. Families that were previously passive are now more active in ministry. The Word of God is taking root in their lives and the love among the congregation is becoming increasingly evident. 

 

PB

PB is a 35-year-old male who is married and has four children.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) Wisdom and understanding to IR in his studies. May God bless his efforts in learning, provide patience and proper guidance, and open the way for him to overcome all challenges in his education. 
2) The faith of the congregation to be strengthened and be steadfast. May they remain firm in knowing the Lord, prayerful, not easily shaken by life's challenges and difficulties. 
3) Unity in the church and willingness to serve in the church. 
4) My family to be given peace and strength in facing every challenge. 
5) Wisdom, discernment, and courage in my ministry. May my ministry be blessed, bringing many souls closer to God and be filled with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. 

Praise God! I would like to share a testimony about how God's love and power worked in the life of a family I evangelized recently. When I first met them, they were still bound to old beliefs, relying on charms and idols for protection and blessings. However, through the Gospel message, prayers and the work of the Holy Spirit, their hearts began to open, and they started to see the truth in Christ. They made the biggest decision in their lives by surrendering themselves entirely to the Lord Jesus Christ. They have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour and are now ready to be baptised. May they release themselves from all forms of influence from charms and idols they once trusted and that every darkness binding them is broken in Jesus' name. May they continue to grow in knowing the Lord, be protected from trials, and become living witnesses of how the Gospel's power truly transforms lives. 

 

RG

RG is a 31-year-old man who is married with one child.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) God will open and soften their hearts to receive the gospel message, especially those that are still able to forgo things that they held dear to their heart. 
2) Those who have believed but not yet ready to go through water baptism to make a decision fast and not dilly dally.
3) The newly baptised to have a strong spiritual growth in faith and be a witness for Christ and they will have the urge to share their faith to their family and friends. 
4) Speedy recovery for my mother who recently underwent a head surgery. May God grant perfect healing, speed up the recovery process, and give peace and strength during the healing period. 
5) Steadfastness of spirit in my ministry. May any challenges that come my way be overcome by God's grace. 

There were some church members who were hostile to each other and did not greet each other. This conflict caused tension in our fellowship and is an obstacle to the spiritual growth of the church. However, through unceasing prayer and guidance, we see God working miraculously in their lives. Their hostile hearts began to soften and now most of them have reconciled. Seeing them reunited and be one in the spirit will bring joy to the Lord. 

  

JB

JB is a 38-year-old male who is married with one child.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) Those who have just accepted the Lord Jeus and have been baptised to remain strong and faithful to Him despite facing various challenges of faith. 
2) Spiritual strength to those who have recently received Christ and been baptized. May they not waver in faith when facing challenges, remain steadfast in prayer, worship, and the teaching of God's Word, and become living witnesses for Christ. 
3) Mission work of building a preacher's house in SSPB by the fellowship of pastors from ST area in 2025 so that all financial needs are met. 
4) Next year's evangelism plans to build a fellowship church in KSL. Pray for the location, funds, building materials, manpower, and willing hearts to help in this project. 
5) My child studying at UTM Johor to stay healthy and be protected by God at all times. Pray for wisdom in their studies so that they can achieve academic success and live in obedience to God. 

I am grateful to the Lord for the great breakthrough that occurred in the ministry from July to December of last year. 28 new souls accepted the Lord Jesus Christ. They not only believed but took a step of faith and went through baptism. I would also like to thank the sponsors from MAP who have faithfully supported this ministry. I believe this is just the beginning of a greater harvest of souls that the Lord has prepared. Many are still thirsty and hungry for the truth. 

 

MM

MM is a 44-year-old single female.

Prayer Requests
Pray for:
1) Spiritual growth for the congregation, with deep spiritual growth, steadfast in prayer and worship, active to participate in ministry and evangelism to expand God's kingdom. 
2) Wisdom to church leaders in designing and implementing effective ministry strategies. May each strategy developed reach more souls, strengthen the faith of the congregation, and bring glory to God. 
3) The needs of the church and congregation, in terms of economy or ministry requirements. May God grant the congregation steadfastness and perseverance in serving, as well as wisdom and strength to church leaders in guiding the congregation. 
4) Guidance in every step of the ministry transition plans. May every decision made be in accordance with God's will and may the transition bring blessings and positive impacts for wider ministry. 
5) Blessing and protection for the family with good health, peace and unity. May every family member be strengthened in faith, granted wisdom in facing challenges, and remain faithful in following and serving God. 

Praise and gratitude to God for always providing strength and enthusiasm to continue serving Him, even in a place full of challenges and difficulties in the growth of the ministry. The most joyful moments in m ministry happened at the end of last year. There was an individual from another church denomination who had not attended church for a long time and had nearly lost the spirit to worship. After a few visits reaching out to him with God's love, God worked in his heart. He came back to church to worship with us. He has been faithfully attending the fellowship for nearly two months, and I see a genuine longing in him to know God personally and experience His love in his life. All glory belongs to God! Praise the Lord!
