Activities

ACM Mission, our mission and ministry continues even in a greater urgency than ever before! Beirut is in a dire condition that needs our immediate attention! 
- Average income is $70 a month
- Trash all around the city 
- People live in hopelessness
- Electric power 4 hours daily 
- Joblessness is common
- Living cost is highest in history 
- Shortage of needed medication
- Malnutrition is very common
- Homes in rubbles from explosion 
- 45 years of widespread hardship etc .....

Lebanon is in complete darkness! The people are living in the darkest time in their history. Please, pray for Lebanon. The worst condition is in the inner-city Beirut. 

 
 

Family Stories

Mateous Kaprelian

(Viken and Hrant – brothers; Artemis – mother)

Artemis is sick, is confined to bed and has been disabled for a long time. The younger brother, Viken, is mentally disabled. He is unemployed and takes care of his mother at home. The other brother, Hrant, is in the mental hospital. Mateous was injured in last year’s explosion and could not work for a long time. Currently, he works at a supermarket carrying groceries for people to earn tips, which is the only wages he and the family have. The brothers also have health issues as well so in addition to the regular expenses, they have a lot of medical expenses also. They struggle to pay their rent and electric bills.   

Family income is about $50 a month.

(Arpi, Seta, Silva, Sonna)

These are five unmarried girls, two of them are twins and mentally disabled. A third disabled sister who is in better shape stays home to care for the twin sisters. The youngest sister and the oldest sister work as tailors in the same shop every day to care for the family. Each sister makes about $30 a month. They struggle to pay their rent and electric bills.     

Family income is about $60-$65 a month. 

 

Yervant Navrouzian

(Marie – mother; Sarkis – brother)

Sarkis is mentally disabled and stays home. Marie is 85 years old and is at home taking care of her sick son with the help of Yervant. Yervant collects payments for internet for a company door to door in the Beirut area. Currently he makes about $25 a month. In addition to regular expenses, they have medical expenses also. They struggle to pay their rent and electric bills.

Angela Kazezian

(Patil -3 year old daughter; Rita – 8 months old; Harout 33 year old– brother; Maral – mother 59 year old)

Angela does not work because she cares for the two children. Her mother collects recycling bottles to make a few dollars a week. Harout, the brother, is the only one who works and makes $25-$40 a month depending on the amount of work available for the month. They have children’s diapers and milk needs that are very hard to get. They struggle to pay rent and their electric bills. 

Family income is less than $50 a month.

 

Jack Sahakian

(Wife, Liza, is 47 years old; oldest son, Serj, is 20 years old; younger son, Koko, is 18 years old)

Liza is at home to take care of the family, mostly the husband’s older son’s health. Serj has seizures and is not able to work. He has had a few jobs but he was let go because of his seizures at work. The younger son works and makes $44 a month. Jack, the father, sells soaps, tissue boxes, etc. on the street at the building where he lives because of not being able to do anything else because of his diabetes. He needs medication but is not able to afford it. They struggle to pay their rent and electric bills.

Maria Tarakjian (Single lady)

Maria is slightly mentally disabled. Maria’s husband left her some years back. She raised her daughter alone but she left her also. Maria does house cleaning for people, although she was advised not to work by the doctor. She is not sure how much longer she can work. She does dialysis and has many medical expenses. She does not take some of her medication because of the related costs. Her medical expenses are about $170 a month. Her electricity is only about 4-6 hours a day. She struggles to pay her rent and electric bills.   

Family income is about $100 a month.
