Update from Fountain of Hope

changing livesOn behalf of the Fountain of Hope team, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to Bright Hope World for the unwavering support you continue to render to our communities, children, and young people across Zimbabwe. Your partnership is not just financial — it is a lifeline of dignity, hope, and transformation.

Through your generosity, families are being lifted from poverty, children are being restored to safety and opportunity, and young people are being equipped with skills that ignite hope for a brighter future. The support you provide restores dignity where it was lost, strengthens fragile households, and gives communities the courage to dream again.

We are deeply inspired by the way your involvement has empowered Fountain of Hope to stand with downtrodden communities. This commitment has not gone unnoticed — the Government of Zimbabwe has recognized the impact of our work and has invited Fountain of Hope to participate in Livelihood Assessment exercises.

We thank God for the testimonies being written in Makamure, Peniel, Mthombothemba, Chikofa, Heany, Majiji, and Mtshazo. Lives are being challenged, changed, and renewed. Hope is rising where despair once reigned.

Thank you, Bright Hope World, for standing with us. Together, we are not only transforming communities — we are shaping the future of Zimbabwe.

Recent Events

Centre

changing livesSince its inception in 2008, Peniel Centre has been a beacon of hope for homeless, abused, abandoned, and vulnerable children. To date, the centre has accommodated and transformed the lives of 76 young people and currently cares for 28 children who are all enrolled in school, colleges, or skills training programs.

Peniel Centre is more than a shelter — it is a family, a place of healing, and a foundation for the future. Many of the children arrive carrying deep scars from sexual abuse, physical violence, abandonment, or poverty. Through love, care, and spiritual guidance, their dignity is restored, and their hope rekindled.

Thanks to the support of Bright Hope World, these children are not only given a home but are also equipped with education and practical skills to prepare them for independent living in a difficult nation.

Skills Development

Zimbabwe faces extremely high unemployment, especially among youth and men in rural areas. In response, Fountain of Hope expanded Peniel Centre’s mission to include skills training.

• In 2025, 16 young people were trained in carpentry, hotel and catering management, building, plumbing, motor mechanics, and agriculture.

• Many of these youth came from poor rural backgrounds; some already trapped in drug abuse. Today, they are using their skills to earn a living — some even crossing into South Africa to work successfully with the skills acquired.

This initiative has given young people dignity, purpose, and the ability to support themselves and their families.

Beekeeping

sustainable optionRecently, Peniel Centre introduced beekeeping training as a sustainable livelihood option.
• 14 people have already been trained since December last year.
• Trainers are being prepared to extend knowledge into rural communities, teaching men and women how to run viable honey production projects.
• Beekeeping was chosen because it requires low capital, minimal space, and has a ready market for honey.

Advantages of Beekeeping
Beekeeping is proving to be one of the most strategic livelihood projects introduced at Peniel Centre. Its benefits go far beyond income generation, making it a sustainable and empowering initiative for communities.
• Low Capital Requirement — affordable startup costs make it accessible to poor families.
• Small Space Needed — ideal for households without large fields.
• Ready Market for Honey — honey sells quickly, ensuring consistent income.
• Nutritional Benefits — boosts immunity and provides natural energy.
• Medicinal Value — widely recognized for healing properties.
• Environmental Benefits — bees improve crop yields and biodiversity.
• Community Empowerment — inclusive, empowering men, women, and youth.

This project is poised to become a powerful tool for economic empowerment, especially in Matabeleland.

Spiritual Foundation

At the heart of Peniel Centre is the commitment to make God known. Children and young people attend daily devotions and Bible studies, grounding their healing and growth in faith. This spiritual foundation ensures that transformation is not only physical and economic but also deeply spiritual.

changed lifePersonal Stories

One shining example is Bheki, who grew up at Peniel Centre with no home, no family, and no future. Through your support, he completed high school, trained in photography, and has now moved out, renting his own apartment while saving to buy land for his house. His story reflects the heart of Peniel Centre — turning despair into destiny.

Comments

Peniel Centre continues to provide a home, family, hope, and a future to children who once had none. Through your support, Bright Hope World, lives are being healed, dignity is being restored, and futures are being built.

Thank you
