Country News

tough timesEgypt is not directly fighting in the current regional wars, but conflicts in the Middle East (such as wars involving Iran, Israel, and Gaza) are affecting Egypt's economy and daily life. The Egyptian government is trying to reduce the impact and support stability.

Wars in the region affect Egypt's economy in several ways:
- energy prices have increased
- the Egyptian pound has weakened
- inflation remains high
- Egypt increased domestic fuel prices by about 14-17%
- because fuel and transport costs increase, food prices also rise
- Wars and regional tension make tourists afraid to travel
- millions of migrants and refugees from regional conflicts

Loans Project (EGY05c)

generating incomeOur loan project is one of our strongest ministry programs, serving more than five poor villages in Upper Egypt. Through this project, we provide zero-interest loans to around 300 people, helping families start small businesses and improve their living conditions.

As loans are repaid, the funds are used to provide new loans to others, allowing the project to continue blessing more families. The program is carried out through local churches, which helps build stronger relationships with the community and connects many people with the church.

One woman in the village was suffering from cancer and had to undergo surgery. Because of her health condition, she was unable to work outside her home. Through the local church, she received a small zero-interest loan from the project to buy and raise chickens at her house. She began selling the chickens and eggs, which now provides some income for her and helps support her family.

Training Centre (EGY01)

keen to learnOur training centre is thriving and welcomes children and adults throughout the week. Kids attend courses in English, French, computer skills, and USMAS programs, gaining valuable knowledge and building confidence.

Adults also benefit from our professional courses, including make-up artistry and hairdressing, while Sudanese refugees are learning computer skills to help them gain employment and adapt to life in Egypt. The centre continues to be a hub of learning, skill-building, and community growth.

Poor Families (EGY05)

After the current situation, many poor families have reached out for help. We do our best to support them with the resources we have, but unfortunately, many people are still in severe need. We pray for God's provision and guidance so that we can continue to assist as many families as possible and bring hope to those struggling.
