I thank our good God for allowing me to work in His work and thank all of you who invest your time to pray for the advancement of God's work among the ethnic groups of the Peruvian Amazon.
This month was a very special time for me because of the Missionary Congress of the church where I gather. I attended the 30th Missionary Congress "Missions in the Heart of the Church". It was a time of spiritual renewal, and I rejoiced in the fellowship of the missionaries who came from different places.
Second missionary retreat: I thank God for the second retreat that we missionaries had. We give each other feedback in the discussions, in the praise and the comprehensive care they gave us.
"Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, 'Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land which the Lord swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance." Deuteronomy 31:7.
I knew God was preparing me to pass on the legacy to the next generation. At the congress I was able to hear the voice of God through the speakers and the topics discussed. Thank you, thank you God for speaking to my heart and teaching me many things!
The Nagy missionaries have been working with me in the community for more than a year now. God has taught us so much in these last few months. Now there is better communication. The missionary sometimes asks me a question or tells me one thing, and I realize that it was just what I thought or had in my mind. I know that God sent me this family to work together and with the same passion for the unreached and for the suffering “that all of them may be one; Father, just as you are in me, and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me" John 17:21.
During this time, we continue to get more involved in ministry with children, teaching them Bible stories from the Old Testament which makes us see visible changes in their lives.
It is very encouraging to see the children come to our house to ask if we are going to have worship in the evening. We have devotionals three times a week and the children attend the devotionals in the evenings.
We continue to prepare breakfasts every Sunday for the children of the community. The missionaries' young children get involved to help, serving the other children.
In the month of October we began to take care of the elderly, widows and abandoned people, cooking at the beginning once a week (Wednesday). Now we do it twice a week. We gather in the church sharing with them not only a hot meal, but also the spiritual food that we consider the most important.
We ask you to pray for them, as many of their situations are truly moving. Some elderly people cannot come when it rains because it makes it difficult for them to walk. When these situations arise, Cristina and I bring food to their homes. But in the future we would need a means to move them to the dining room.
We thank God for the support of the Sticea family (Romanian missionaries), who came from Lima to the community, along with their three children. They joined the team to develop the Christmas program at the José Luis Arguedas Educational Centre. We give the children in kindergarten and primary school a polo shirt with a Christmas message.
By God's grace and provision, we were able to go to five more communities. The purpose was to present Jesus Christ as Savior. We shared toys, toiletries, some sweets, chocolate and bread, with the support of authorities, community members and teachers.
It was impressive to arrive at the community of Alta Montaña, despite the rain that accompanied us all day, because there we found a very big surprise. We learned that a disciple of the worker Víctor Soto from the Church of Contakiari is going on Sundays to teach the word of God to the community members.
We thank God for the provision that came from different sources for this event. Not only did we have enough, but we had more than enough and in this way, we were able to send help to a small Yanesha church and also to the Shipibo children who are on the Pisqui River. To God be the glory!
Prayer and Praise Points1) May God give me much wisdom to continue helping the Nagy family in their cultural adaptation.
2) Construction of the parsonage in the community of Chontakiari.
3) May God continue to provide for the soup kitchen for widows and grandparents.
4) Installation of solar panels in the house of Segadores because the electricity is very unstable and goes out continuously.
5) To resume biblical teaching in the schools of the nearby communities.
6) Disciple people with disabilities.
7) May God renew my physical and spiritual strength every day.
