Ministry

Atalaya Base Sunday School Teacher Training

lunchtimeIn the month of May, my wife and I had the opportunity to join the Atalaya team to support the VI Sunday School Teacher Training. The responsibility I had was the logistical part and support for the preparation of food together with our missionaries who carry out their missionary work.

We had the participation of three native communities, Asháninka, Yine, Machiguengas and mixed race, there were a total of 40 participants, many of the mothers who participated, had to take their children with them, this is part of their culture.

I was in charge of one of the devotionals, which the emphasis was the motto of the training was "Sowing for eternity", participants were instructed on how to use the study materials in the teaching of children. Several devotionals were shared, which were aimed at teachers, with an emphasis on the importance of sowing the Word of God in the lives of children (Sowing for Eternity). The participants were taken care of by our team at the Atalaya mission base. It was a very special time for my wife and I. We had the opportunity to share with a young Asháninka the message of salvation who was able to make his decision for Christ.

Support for the community of San Fausto

communityIn the middle of June, our God allowed me to travel together with our missionaries Oscar Tello and Calin Sticea, to the community of San Fausto to carry out maintenance of the facilities and support in everything that our brothers in Chile needed in the realization of the medical day in the community of San Fausto. They provided support in the missionary work that the Dumitru family has been doing in the community.

We are grateful to God and our brothers in Chile who worked hard for a week caring for more than 100 people. We also visited sick people in their homes who could not attend and be cared for in this medical campaign. In the afternoons, meetings were held for the children of the Sunday school and children of the school, as well as meetings with the women of the community. Medicines were donated to all those who required.

Our brothers and sisters were very helpful and blessed. We thank God and them for joining efforts of cooperation in favour of ethnic groups with great spiritual, physical and economical needs. The head of the community was very grateful to God and Segadores for the effort that was made on their behalf.

special timeSupport for the community of Aoti

In mid-August I travelled with our missionaries Antonia Yalta, Cristina Salas, and a pastor from Lima in order to strengthen, encourage, and challenge the church of the community of Aoti to continue to change and be a blessing to their community as well as to the communities around Aoti.

The topic I shared was how to correct problems in life, which are basic principles that every believer must know in order to lead a victorious life. Brothers from various surrounding communities participated, who were very confronted with the Word of God.

The Lord gave me the opportunity to participate in the baptism of several brothers.

encouraging othersVisit our missionaries at Atalaya

In the month of August, I travelled with our missionaries Saúl Huamán and Antonia Yalta, to the city of Atalaya, with the purpose of knowing a little more about the reality that our Romanian missionaries go through, struggles and victories in their field of action. Thank God we were able to spend time with each of them and as a team we had some time to share God's Word and encourage them in ministry. Our visit ended with lunch together.

Participation of Segadores in Pucallpa

sharing about ministryAt the end of August, I travelled to the city of Pucallpa together with our missionary Víctor Soto to share the ministry of Segadores in the celebration of the 94 years of Christian presence of the Missionary Church of Pucallpa.

Our participation was intended to publicize the missionary work of Segadores in our Amazon. There was the participation of the entire church, more than 100 brothers, who attended the different information booths of missionary agencies, missionaries and other entities that are dedicated to evangelization in our Amazon.

The preaching was with missionary emphasis challenges and the challenge of the local church to step out of its comfort zone and go beyond its local environment.

Personal

remain wellThank God for the family he has given me and the care he has been taking over us to this day. During these recent times, it has been the prayers of you and of many other brothers and sisters who know the ministry that we carry out in Segadores that have sustained us until now.

I continue to practice patience, self-control, trust in the Lord, and to be prudent in my conversations. I ask the Lord for much wisdom to guide me in what I have to do in relation to the ministry of Segadores. It's the different circumstances in life that God is using to continue improving my spiritual life, character, and faith in Him.

I praise God for His love, mercy, and for all that He is to me and my family.

Family

My daughters: Stephanie, 30 years old, is still studying psychology at a private university. She is in her second year of studies and advancing with the help of the Lord and growing in her spiritual life.

Abigail, 27, stopped studying business administration in a high school, due to lack of economic resources. She is now in the city of Chiclayo with my eldest daughter, seeing how to help each other. Abigail has her 6-year-old daughter, Camila, and she is studying in Chiclayo.

We thank God that my wife’s and my health remain regular, we have frequent medical checkups. At the moment Lucy is in therapy for pain she has in her neck, back and waist. On the other hand, she is following her monthly control to check her glucose, triglycerides and cholesterol, which she has been told should not be higher than the established limits.

As for my health, I continue to monitor my glucose monthly since last month I was at 151 mg/dL, according to the nurse I am at risk of pre-diabetes. Despite some ailments due to the problem of radiculopathy that I was detected with several years ago, I am waiting for a medical appointment so that the neurologist can see the results and determine what treatment I should follow.

Despite these small health difficulties, our God is so good. He is always there to help us overcome our ailments.

Comments

Thank you very much for continuing to bless our lives and ministry and being an important part with us in the great commission entrusted by our Lord Jesus Christ, within the indigenous communities of our nation.

Together we are helping to build a different future in the lives of our brothers and sisters and those who are getting to know our God in the different native communities.

The achievements achieved are possible thanks to your prayers, your generosity and trust in our missionary work.
