Personal Stories

very gratefulMs Pikul Yebiang
Before, we used water from a big village. During the dry season, our water would be cut off and then we used groundwater system, but the water was unclean, smelly, and insufficient. So, we asked for help from the ITDF to help us with the water supply system. The villagers are very happy to no longer have problems with clean water. I would like to thank the ITDF that help us have clean water for drinking and use. I would also like to thank those who donated money to build the water supply system. We didn't have enough money and didn't have the knowledge to build a water supply system, so we couldn't do it by ourselves. Because of everyone's help, this has been a success and has been very beneficial to the villagers. I truly want to thank everyone.

Our family built a new house because we had just move into this village. We didn't have enough money to build a bathroom, so we had to use our neighbour’s bathroom, and sometimes we had to ride on motorcycle to the gas station to use the bathroom. When the ITDF came to help with the water supply system and bathroom construction, I asked for a bathroom too. Now, my family has our own bathroom. We don’t have to bother our neighbours. We are very happy. Thank you to everyone who helped.

Before, I wasn't very interested in growing vegetables and didn't have the equipment to do that. But now ITDF encouraged me to grow vegetables, so I joined. When I started doing it, I felt hopeful that my family and I would be able to eat the vegetables we grow. I think growing vegetables is very beneficial. It reduces my family expenses, and we have safe vegetables that we grow ourselves. I'd like to thank ITDF and who donated budget to us.
