April 2022 Update from Selwyn Sexton, Sowers Central and East Africa

Recent Events

Malawi

From Godfrey: Emma, a converted Muslim in the Eastern Region of Malawi, reported of conducting 13 follow up trips to converted Muslims in the past three months. She is a Level 3 Sower, and she loves witnessing using the SOWERS method in her area. Her son, who is Muslim, beat her twice last year alone, to stop his mother spreading the good news of Jesus. Emma leads a team of 14 Sowers. In December alone she reported of reaching 119 people with the simple counselling booklet. She says that COVID-19 cannot stop the magic of the counselling booklet. She has a street restaurant where she sells cooked food. Pray for Emma and her ministry in her area.

From Majamika: An old lady who used to practice witchcraft accepted the gospel and Jesus at our open-air meeting at Linga village. Out of our open-air meeting two churches have started in Tsambola and Chiweta villages east of Lilongwe.

Zambia

From Benedict: M Chanda, a 20-year-old girl, was involved in prostitution by going with truck drivers as this was her habit in her life. She attended the open-air meeting, which was conducted in Isoka, Zambia, and this is where she opened up and gave her life to the fullest to Jesus as her personal Saviour. Now she is a changed person, and she has started going to church.

From John: Cecilia, a 19-year-old girl, spent her youth in many bad deeds and at the time she was at secondary school she entered into satanic activities. She was assigned to the section that was causing confusion among all Christians in her area. She spent three years in satanism and at the close of her last term at school she found herself at an open-air meeting. From that day when she gave her life to the Lord and confessed all her activities in satanism she became a changed person. Cecilia has started going to church and has done the Sowers training. Our God changes many people through the Sowers Ministry. Praise be to him and all who are involved in it.

Kenya

lots of peopleFrom Emmanuel: In January we had a meeting with Globe Outreach Ministry, a group of pastors and their leaders. Last year I trained them at level 1, but we only did door-to-door and person-to-person evangelism. Because of the COVID protocols, we did not conduct open-air meetings until this year. We had a good open-air meeting attracting about 60 people and a good number of children. At the end of the meeting, three people came forward at the invitation and 43 people were counselled.

Faithful Service

Peter Kabungo, who has been in hospital for months, sadly passed away. Thank God for his many years of faithful service on the Zambian Board. Please pray that as his family mourn they will know God‘s peace, strength and comfort at this time.

very gratefulComments

A very special thanks to all who have given generously to supply the work with necessary materials such as training manuals, counselling booklets and tracts; equipment like sketch boards, paint and brushes and paper, bicycles, sleeping bags, Bibles and other items including three motorbikes. You are investing in training many church teams and equipping them to reach out with the life transforming Gospel.
