Recent Events

Ministry

In the last 6 months of 2019, with God’s help we have continued with the work in the Maucayapi community, even though we had to make some changes in the bible teaching in August and September due to the trip our team had. During their absence my wife took on the teaching of the children, adults and young people.

Taking up the teaching of the young people
When the team returned at the beginning of October, my wife and I took back the teaching of the young people in the Maucayapi community, using the material of Firm Foundations (introduction method), we only got to the third lesson.  In the classes they are always asking questions about the topics we have touched on in each lesson. I believe they are understanding a little more than the adults.

The number of young people has gone down because of problems at home, we had 11 and now have 9, we hope with God’s help we will grow in 2020.

Construction of the classrooms in the Maucayapi community
We are grateful to God for His love and faithfulness to us, but also with our brothers and sisters in the Maucayapi community. While it is true we haven’t had major advances with the construction of the classrooms for the Sunday school we have reached the level of having the walls finished.

With God’s help this year we have the goal to finish the wooden roof, doors, windows, floor and the desks and chairs.

Snacks for the Sunday school children
We are grateful to God, and those who support us financially, that the children and adults could be blessed with refreshments and snacks during 2019. Also God provided through Segadores money for presents for the children in Maucayapi. This was possible thanks to the help of people who have given to the ministry for the end of year activities.

God puts in the hearts of these supporters the love to support the ministry and in this way they give support for the children and young people who are the present and future of the church – "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

End of the year chocolate celebration in the Maucayapi community
good drinkAt the end of 2019, thanks to the donations of our faithful supporters, we could share with the children in the Maucayapi community the ”chocolatada” and gifts that were given to each child.

Personal Life

In the last 6 months, personally God has continued to work in my life, especially with my character. I need to control my attitudes and reactions, sometimes I lose my patience and don’t watch what I say.

Every time that this happens the Holy Spirit allows me to see my errors and correct what is not correct even though it is not easy sometimes. This is the way in which I see God working in my life.

This life lesson helps me to speak to others about the things that we as humans go through every moment and helps me to be able to share with my family and people who are ministering the word of God.

On the other hand, I continue to learn to have patience, love others who are doing us wrong, pray for those who have hurt us, look at circumstances in another way and ask God for wisdom to be able to deal with every situation with spiritual maturity.

Family

My mother had two fainting spells and this is due to her health problems. She is 88 years old and suffers from high blood pressure and as a consequence her heart has grown. The doctors have diagnosed that she has cardiac arrhythmia, if she continues with the fainting they are going to have to make other checks on her and the possibility exists that they will put in a pacemaker, this is from the cardiologist who she is seeing.

My wife continues with her treatment for her health problems, osteoporosis, and the pain she has in her hands and feet.

I continue to have pain in my left leg and wrist. Two months ago the doctor detected arthritis in both of my legs, my right leg is more affected than my left leg. I continue to have rehabilitation therapy to get better, I hope that I don’t need to have an operation. I am taking treatment.

My mother-in-law continues to have problems with her sight, they can’t operate as it doesn’t have a cure.

As the apostle Paul said, I give thanks to God in everything and with the experiences we live with the Lord we can say that nothing will separate us for the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. If He calls us he will sustain us and we will serve Him giving Him our best.

Prayer and Praise Points

christmas gifts1) That the Word of God that we impart to the Maucayapi community during the week will bring changes in each of their lives.
2) This year, God will help us to form leaders in the church who will take on the responsibilities within the congregation in Maucayapi.
3) Provision of the economic resources to roof the classrooms for the Sunday school.
4) That God will provide new opportunities to initiate the missionary work in other surrounding communities of Atalaya and in this way establish more churches.
5) Pray that God will continue to use us and give us a lot of wisdom during the times we are teaching the Word of God.
6) Pray for my family, that God will strengthen us every day as we search His will in our personal walk and that he will equip us to teach the Word.
7) Pray for my wife’s health and my health, for the health problems that we continue to have as I have mentioned above.
8) For a laptop, as the one I have is cracked and old and it is difficult for my work.

Comments

We are grateful to God for the support you give us in completing our missionary work in the place God has put us to minister into the lives of many people who don’t know the Saviour as well as strengthening the spiritual lives of our brothers and sisters in the faith.

Thanks for your prayers, we have felt supported and encouraged in difficult moments and your missionary gifts make it possible to supply our needs and projects to develop our mission field.

God bless you
