Prayer News from Prasert 15th January

Tungsonghong

I am continuing to make disciples in Tungsonghong and have a consistent group of 20–40 children coming to the House of Hope after school every day and on the weekends. Many of them have been baptised and it is encouraging to hear how the children are reaching out to their families and leading them to Christ.

As the children grow older many of them have committed themselves to joining in our vision to take the light of the gospel to two other communities. After a young couple from the Sunday church in Tungsonghong led their mother to Christ at Don Makok village in Nakhon Pathom, mum didn’t want her house filled with Buddha idols any longer so she asked me to clean out the idols, smash and burn them! This was quite a step of faith and commitment since they were worth thousands of dollars. A new church is now happening at mum’s house (see below).

Please pray for me as I train the children at the House of Hope how to share their testimony and how to serve God by sharing the good news in other communities. Last week three children received Christ at the House of Hope. Please pray for the five new Christians getting ready for water baptism. May they grow in God and give their lives to serve Him.

Don Makok Village Outreach

The believers at Tungsonghong church are visiting Don Makok village once a month to hold a worship and evangelism meeting. The people there are Thai Buddhist and there is currently only one believer in the village. When we went there in early January about 60 children and adults, including several families, attended the meeting. They are very open and were waiting expectantly for us to arrive. The reason we felt led to go to the village is that two children (10 and 12 years old) are the grandchildren of the Don Makok community leader and had led their mother to Christ. Please pray that many will come to Christ there.

Thai Samut Village Outreach

teaching childrenPlease pray for our team from Tungsonghong church as we begin teaching the children at the Thai Samut village on the 27th January. We have already started prayer walking in this community and during the prayer time, faith came into my heart that in the future we can rent a house there, like the House of Hope in Tungsonghong. The rent is only about $2,500-$3,000 baht per month. Pray for the community leader and for the children's parents who have received us very well. When we told them we will be teaching about God, they welcomed us warmly. Please pray for Yui's family who now live in this community. When she was a child, Yui came to Top Kids in Tungsonghong. Now she is married with three children. At Christmas Yui opened her home for us to hold a Christmas outreach there.

I am very excited to be starting two new works in these two communities. The strategy plan that I wrote at the Nations course is beginning to be fulfilled. I do thank the Lord that although we don't have a big church at Tungsonghong, we can still do mission together. I always remember what I learned at the CPM course - "the resources are in the harvest". At our last Christmas celebration, so many parents helped us by contributing food and their service during the outreach.

Thank you to all the friends who are supporting us.
