great coupleUpdate from Chrissy and Suzen Lukanga

Warm and tender greetings from the beautiful coast of the Indian Ocean in Pemba, Mozambique.

We are grateful to you all our esteemed supporters and friends for your continued support and remembrance of us in your prayers.

Church

We are doing very well and the Lord continues to reveal Himself to us and to the church, amazing things continue to happen from time and again. 2017 is the year of miracles, we already have had miracle pregnancies and now last Sunday the 30/4/17 we had our first HIV/AIDS healing miracle testimony of the woman below who is our member and who was diagnosed with HIV in 2015. Standing next to her is Jose Abilho during her testimony. After suffering from malaria constantly in 2015 we became suspicious and we felt she needed to do all the tests. As usual Sue accompanied her to the hospital and the results came out as HIV+. Three weeks ago she started struggling with malaria again and she came out for prayer on 23/4/17. The following day she went to the miraclehospital for a medical check-up and guess what? The unexpected happened. The nurse who was doing the check-up couldn’t believe what she was seeing, neither did she herself believe when she was told of the results and the following day she went to a different health centre just to make sure and the results were the same - NEGATIVE - glory to Jesus Christ.

The challenge however is on the social needs not only of the church but also of the community and especially in relation to the elderly and orphans. I feel this would bring the proclamation of the gospel into reality and add another dimension to the ministry if we can begin to meet some of the practical and physical needs, e.g. education materials for the school going vulnerables and orphans.

We will be having a baptism ceremony on the 28/05/17 and followed with the Holy Communion celebration service.

We are running a discipleship course for the next six months and will later on review the whole work at the end of the six months and decide then whether to continue or not.

Thanks for praying for the rains and our Sunday school. It has rained the whole of April and has just stopped now. Our Sunday school is also slowly improving.

To the right is our family photo in Pemba. Missing from the photo is Ikumba and Ilunga who are still undertaking schooling in Zambia. Five of those in the photo are our Mozambique children who live with us because of being orphans.
