Update from Niranjan on Relief Efforts in Nepal

Thank you so much for your prayer and support for the people of Nepal. We are really blessed by your wonderful partnership. We thank God for everything that he has been doing in Nepal through Bright Hope World. We have received a great help from you in a time of great need. Beside you, local churches have extended their helping hands to us too.

Immediate Relief

As we faced the earthquake, we got involved in an immediate rescue operation and then caring for the survivors by providing food, clothes, shelter and medicine through mobilizing our disciples in various earthquake affected areas. We spent about NR3,575,045/- (approx US$ 36,111).

Rehabilitation

new businessWe then started working with people who had lost their homes, business, jobs and family as a rehabilitation project. We encouraged them to start their own business personally or in a team and supported them financially to start these. 17 families have now started their own business: vegetable farms, poultry, photo studio, furniture business etc. We also helped them to build some safe shelters for their families. They are doing well now. We supported them with NR3,023,496/- (approx US$30,540). There are many in need so we are filtering some programmes and people groups too.

much neededCounselling and Trauma Programmes

We started working on counselling and trauma healing programmes because we realized this is the biggest need for the survivors. We also started helping some children, those who were homeless, for their shelter and education. We spent about NR5,95,345/- (US$6,013).

And another work is distributing warm clothes to people who live in the hill regions during the winter season. We spent about NR243,678/- (US$2,461).

Plans for the Future

new lifeWe are now ready to mobilize our Resource Centre for financial involvement (micro-loans) with the people who are in need and really want to do something for their families and society.

We are so happy with what you have provided for us and enabled us to do.

Blessings
