In 2026, this project is bringing clean water systems, household toilets, family gardens, and community training to two hill tribe villages in Mae Yao subdistrict, Mueang district, Chiang Rai — home to Lahu and Akha communities who currently lack reliable access to clean water and basic sanitation.

Huay Lu Luang Village (Lahu tribe)

This village has a population of 560 people.

This project was undertaken from 8-26 June 2026. 4,750 metres of pipe was run from their water source and two 15,000 litre water tanks were installed along with 5 taps. 11 households were provided with a toilet. 21 household gardens were also established and 65 people trained. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Of note: This village did have a water project undertaken back in 2018. However, since then, the village has grown significantly into a zone up above the original tank. There are now over 100 houses in this village and it is broken up into a higher and lower zone. The lower zone was the project built in 2018. The higher zone is this newest project to support the expanded part of the village. 

 

Pu Khor Village (Akha tribe)

This village has a population of 340 people.

This project was undertaken from 13 July - 2 August 2026. 1,810 metres of pipe was run from their water source and two 15,000 litre water tanks were installed along with 3 taps. Two households were provided with a toilet. 50 people were trained in this village.
